Can anyone explain to me why PGI is releasing stock mech builds (like one of the archers) which feature C.A.S.E. together with an XL engine? (I am talking about IS mechs)
As far as I understand there is no possible fitting of CASE which can be beneficial in an XL-equipped IS mech. It is a simple waste of tonnage and space.
So, how come PGI still makes stock mechs like this?
Isn't this misdirecting new players? And, isn't it wrong from the TT point of view?

In Battletech, it would mean that techs could later salvage the mech rather than scraping together pieces from a smoking crater.
PGI simply takes the battletech designs and puts them in. In tabletop it makes sense to have it. They're just being thorough.

Thanks for the clarification mate.
I still can't wrap my head around the PGI's capacity to completely disregard some rules, while sticking to other rules in a very serious obsessive-compulsive way...
