Yes please, this would be very helpful in acclimating new players to the Faction game mode.

Yes I agree that the FW maps should be added to the private lobby map list.

I myself and almost everyone I talk to would like to see the Faction Warfare maps added into the private lobby to help with working on group tactics and so we can utilize it to train our new members.

I agree. We have a lot of members that want to focus on CW (FW) and in order to train them and prepare them for what Faction Warfare demands, it would be awesome to have Warfare maps in Private lobbies in order to demonstrate battle plans and tactics as well as valuable battlefield knowledge of the Terrain.

Pretty sure the major reason they aren't there yet is that the private lobby system was not designed to handle the drop deck mechanic of the FW maps.

They could still make the map itself available and just not have the objectives/drop decks. (Ex. Testing Grounds)

Hype, hype, hype.

Even if the mode is limited to Skirmish and the gates are open from the start, that would be something.

Yes! Just add them in the way there are in the testing grounds.

It's just not going to be that easy. Private lobby maps must have functioning win conditions and the FW maps are probably linked to the drop deck system. I'm not saying it would be impossible but it's just not going to be as simple as people seem to think it is.

Captain Edgar Friendly approves of this message, and if it is good enough for the Captain... it is good enough for me

With visible queues, it's relatively easy enough to schedule a coordinated drop on a certain planet, and practice scrim on the live FW Map.

The downside is training partners would have to be in opposite factions for the training cycle, which makes it less appealing.

I think the easiest solution would be to take the FW maps like we have in testing ground, essentially the counter-attack version, and make a version with just 12 spawn locations on each side like in the solo/group queue. No turrets and we don't even need the Mobile Field Base. Just a regular skirmish version.

The downside to this approach is it doesn't capture the back and forth nature of the waves, which is a key part of what makes FW different. There would be no "pushing out in our damaged wave 1 mechs to meet their fresh wave 2 mechs before they reach the gate". Which is really what the focus should be on when practicing the game mode.

Solo/Group queue has an emphasis on mech preservation, but in FW it's really important to burn damaged mechs at certain points in the match to maintain the advantage. When players try to stay alive in 1 mech the whole game it creates passive gameplay and a weak line that can't hold against a fresh wave.

It's not just for training folks. Think of how leagues like NBT could benefit from having the FW maps and game modes, not to mention competitive play in general.
