cool, its gonna be a sandbox mode.
i want to build a mech manufacturing plant, creating my super 4 legged atlas 200 tons B) and inventing my super machine gun, rotary auto cannon, streak LRM :) ;)

Dev's, you do realize that a large portion of the player base has been playing together for 10+ years in houses, with long standing ranks, structure, history, and have been waiting for a new outlet to demonstrate their abilities.

It appears as though houses in your game will simply be like races in an MMO, and you will put the grouping and team achievement portion of the game on the Mercs.

Am I reading this correctly, houses are like races, in an MMO, and Mercs, are like Guilds?

Cuz if thats what your doing, you are going to really dissapoint about half your audience.

We house guys think of the merc guys as the scum of the earth, and regularly whipe them off our boots, as we proceed to the real enemies, the other houses. We won't join a Merc unit even if it means missing out on what could have been a good game. We will instead find other ways to spend our time.

Inside of the houses, we have Units with much richer and more interesting history than the loser Merc units. 25th Marick Militia took the single greatest losses in the clan invasion for example. Why not allow the same level of freedom to organize and work towards objectives as a team, in the house units, giving us planets to attack and defend.

It appears from what you have posted that house players will just run random drops and you will tally some abstract objectives at the end of an arbitrary time period to determine overall house progress, while you are going to have organized merc on merc combat drops scheduled etc.???

There are A LOT of Kurita and Steiners that need to have their pompus mouths shut. Do not Deny me this right.

Sounds really great! Can't wait till we see it in-game.

I just noticed one mistake. December 7th, 3048 will actually be a Thursday. :)

EDIT: Actually, you're correct but for reference they're doing the day matching for lore and game purposes.

Looks like 3053 = 2011 in terms of date and day matching.

You are. Wednesday, December 7th 3053 is accurate to the actual calendar date. Whereas our "date matching" for the game's use isn't accurate to the real calendar (for reference December 7th 3048 is a Thursday but December 7th 2011 is a Wednesday). 2012 matches 3049 at least for December 7th. I haven't looked into that part.

Trystan was just pointing out a calendar "mistake" in a sense.

For the game's purpose the Year is the only thing that should be interchangeable. 2012 = 3049, 2013 = 3050 (current year + 1037, essentially).

Isn't this just like any other MMO. The more you play the faster/higher your character ranks up.

SO this game, the assault battles ive have been playing is only a small portion of the game play that will happen when the full game comes out? Will there be open world roaming with your mech or just joing battles from a server list?

There will probably never be freeroaming Lineage2 or EVE style. Look at World Of Tanks, this should give you a very general idea about how the community warfare will be organized.

Better controlled by the devs LPs than 3rd party clans mercs and factions cliques and favoritism. Im very confident Of Pirhana Games Leave it to the Whining Minority in our community this game wouldnt exist.

Agreed. Some of these folks just aren't even thinking about what the options to this system are. If you do have better options try posting them in the suggestions forum.

I love the idea of conquering planets for your faction or merc company. I love the idea of loyalty points giving you rewards. What I want to know is when this system will be implemented? I want some sort of meta game. As the game stands with its PvP matches, I enjoy them, but eventually I will get bored of them without some point or purpose for my fights. The Meta game you suggest is just what I want. Thank you.
