They should add activating premium time by week.
I'm a casual player with probably about 2 years of premium time banked up. I hardly ever use it cause I'd be wasting so much of it based on my play schedule, but if it was on a per week basis also I'd use it a lot more for those times I got 4-5 days to play regularly. This works in PGIs favor too as I and I'm sure other players will start actually using their PT so will be more likely to purchase PT when they run out.

However I wouldn't be against them converting Premium time to online time only even if that ment a time decrease to 6-8 hours to per day ratio.

As far as I know this the only F2P game that has the concept of banked time and allows that time to be activated in chunks. So I would like to see it more granular, but I can see why they do not want to do it.

Can anyone name a game where premium time stops when you log off ?

I can't

Its very simple if your not going to be playing more than a couple of matches a day don't use premium time, if you know you're going to be playing for hours on a daily basis click the 30 day activation button.

I can understand why people want this, but if it made any business sense at all, every game maker would have what you want, but I still can't find a single one that does this.

I do know plenty that you can't use sections or the game, or reach the top levels unless you have Premium time running though.

Tip #1: Save up all your 'Grab Bags' until you're ready to quit for the week/end.

Tip #2: Redeem all the Grab Bags.

Tip #3: Don't log in again until you want those free premium days activated.

As someone who dumped more than $60 Dollars into the game, I don't think I have to say thanks.
Probably that's more than 50% of the players on MWO. If I have to guess, only 10-15% of the players here have spent more than $100. I know there are some players who probably have been dumping serious amount of $$$$ since the alpha/beta days.

Anyways, just making a point here that perhaps people would be willing to come back and spend more time in game if premium times gifted/bought didn't run out while they are at work or have to tend to real life things.

$60 is chump change just like premium time. Try buying medicine you need to stay alive, because insurance says it's covered, but the paperwork was filed improperly by the MD's office (happens every year and is about $240)

I have sold many items and services and I have learned that folks who complain about low priced items being to expensive are not the ones who make your business run. Many times trying to help these folks just costs more that the good customers end up covering.

I would be buying PT all the time if I knew I could use it economically a little at a time vs throwing a pile of cash down for a week or month of PT, when about 2/3 of it is just wasted because I'm not glued to my PC for that entire time.

Ah... but would you pay MORE for that premium time to make it worthwhile for PGI on their end? That is the main question for arguments on more control of premium time.

Ive got to admit that the giveaway premium times are forthcoming enough from PGI.
It is a shame that we cant actually spend five days a week to play since RL is a thing thats kinda important, too.

Mianus has a point but Ive gotta tell you but they make up to it in many ways.
For example when there was a non-scheduled downtime of the servers they gave away 1 day premium time for a downtime of 4 hours. I had one day extra to play.

This sort of 30 days activation is fine but if for instance I only have 2 weeks off from university bc of holidays, then 2 weeks are spent efficiently with premium time but the remaining 2 weeks will be a tragic loss.
I figured since these 1 day premium times are gifts, its ok and I dont disagree with them running out.
However in the case of actual money-bought and banked premium time we might need more than 30 days minimum activation time.
How about we add some 7 days and 14 days activation to it? Might help with managing our playtimes.

I wish you guys would do something about premium time being wasted away when people can't spend time in game. Always being awarded premium time through events and seeing he valuable hours gone to waste because real life happens.

Because of this...

At some point you will accumulate more cbills than you need.

I have about 70+ million cbills with three open mechbays, but since there hasnt been any cbill sales in ages, I just keep saving up to no end.

I sure could use about 75 million c-bills.
