Great reasoning, except it has one gigantic flaw: If this was true, then why everyone agrees that the Archer needed buffs? I mean, according to you the Archer is completely fine, the problem is with lazy pilots right?
But no, we got Archer buffs, so the same is fair for the IICs and that's what I'm asking for.

It's really very simple logic: the Archer was already pretty much the overall best I.S. 'mech in the 70 ton bracket, so PGI buffed it some more with stronger quirks.

Meanwhile, while the Orion IIC is a very good 'mech, it isn't nearly as good as a Timberwolf, so therefore it does not get quirk buffs.

This mirrors how the horrendously underperforming Vindicator has always been given much worse quirk bonuses than the Blackjack, which already substantially outclasses it due to better hitboxes, smaller size, and higher weapon mount placement.

I hope this has made everything perfectly clear.

I don't think the new Conquest mechanic is working properly. I just finished a match on Polar Highlands Conquest, where my team was ~50pts from victory, holding 2 points, the enemy was capping the 3rd that we held, but we were leading by well over 100 points. However, when our last mech died, the match ended in a loss. Pretty sure they wouldn't have had time to catch up and beat us, definitely not at that cap situation.

I like the new mechanic, preventing drawn out wait times, I just want to make sure that it's working properly.

So, a hot fix to improve the Archer quirks but we are still waiting for IIC quirks... I paid real money for my Jenner too you know? And it needs better toughness just as much those Archers needed the buff.

The IIC already has quirks. It's call CLAN TECH.

I bet every IIC needs some buff or another, I didn't play the Orion or Highlander so I wouldn't know. Oh and no, lurm jenner is a joke, trust me I tried to run it and you don't kill sh*t

Actually, I've had several kills running with a LRM boat Jenner IIC. Granted it depended on the map, in which I had the most luck on Alpine, Polar, Canyon, and T. Desert. The only issue I had was running out of ammo in the middle of the match, but it was the same issue with the SRM boating. If anything the 'prime' Jenner IIC needs an ammo quirk.

Just gonna weigh in here-

I don't feel like the additional Archer structure quirks were really warranted. The missile quirks, sure, but the combination of samefaciness of the torso structure buffs across Archer models now looks bad to me, and I haven't experienced much difficulty with them so far anyways.

Edit: On further thought, I have to wonder if these quirks were prompted by the number of people running them as ERLL boats. I've run into way too many people driving Archers loaded out like they were Warhammers or something, with no missiles at all. And constant-exposure direct fire requires more durability than inobtrusive or even indirect missile-hucking.

I also don't think the JRIIC needs durability buffs. Thing's more than plenty dangerous already without them, much like the HBKIIC. The damage output is real (oddball builds that I've seen like 2xERLL 2xERSL 1xSRM-4 notwithstanding).

And to anyone complaining about the Vindicator- have you tried driving the sailboard Trebuchet lately? Now there's a 'mech that's untenably easy to wreck. It shouldn't be a poor match for me- laser/missile combinations are usually my bread and butter- but it falls over like a piece of cardpaper.

Seen plenty of those, though they also can do a number by running in and alpha striking a ****-ton of SRMs, I've had one of those laser/SRM loadouts kill me in one volley through (almost fresh) frontal armor in a heavy, and even double AC/20 builds can't pull that off.

The IIC mechs are also kind of odd ducks because they get an I.S. style customization of the base chassis but Clan weapons and tech upgrades. Quirks are still fun to differentiate things, but the IIC are kind of special in their own way already, which may be part of why they haven't gotten a quirk pass.

Well, I don't own a Trebuchet, so I can't comment on it as I can the Vindicator... but I've never thought they were very much of a threat, if that says anything.
