Yeah I dropped with Bandit this morning, the game wasn't quite as impressive I was in Highlander iic using one of blaggs lrm brawl builds

Think we both tipped 400 plus and got a couple of kills in HPG, spent most my time underneath brawling with a laser banshee and an opened Direwale.

Your getting good scores, but I think it is just underlining the big flaw in PGI's design of LRM's your builds don't have anything bigger than a LRM 10, which are both clearly superior to the LRM 15 and 20, which should simply not be the case

Wow yea....thats awsome....what game do you play ?
MWO 2 ?
When I try to lurm no one holds a lock longer than 2 secs and when I install TAG and beagle I am stone dead the very second i leave my hiding spot even when in the middle of my team.

NEVER rely on your team for locks... Holding locks for you kills them, and that is a worse consequence.

That is why i carry a NARC in my build... you paint the target and just shower them after. They run in fear and everyone automatically targets them.... profit!

When someone asks my team to hold locks, I just laugh at them on VoIP.

Imagine if PGI/Russ had actually listened and oh say, given a nice quirk set to that showcase new piece of equipment on the ARC-5S... the Doering Electronics Glowworm NARC Beacon! Allowing it to match or at least be close to the range/velocity of C-NARC? Of course, it probably wouldn't have been mounted UNDER the missile shields. But what do I know?

Its really about teammates in this game.
I've gone 1000+ dmg with a Direwolf with LRM20+15.
This isn't COD or BF4 where a player carries a whole team.

3 good screenies. Wow. Because you know..we long determined that all it took was a couple screenies to prove Tier 1 Meta MEch. Posted Image

And you totally ignored the fact that I won 21 matches out of 30 with this supposedly trash tier mech. I did my part in helping the team to win--it is the pilot, not the mech. You guy can't/don't wish to see it? Fine. I know what I can do with LRMs. Stay salty, my friends. Don't care if you're not skilled enough to make the Archer work without heavy quirks.

When a mech has 9 missile hardpoints, you bet your *** I'm going to boat LRM5s on it.

First, I was assured...repeatedly....that lumries don't work in tier 1. My reality has been shattered. Woe is me and stuff.

Second, how much are you bribing your teammates to actually hit the R key? The biggest challenge I've had with the 5W is that since I need to get my own locks in 3/4's of matches, and I'm piloting a dainty mech wearing nothing but lacy lingerie for armor, it can go very badly very fast.

VOIP is the key. Just gotta tell the pugs during match preparation time to put up UAVs and lock the enemy. And during the match one should periodically ask teammates for UAVs if you see an opportune moment. Pugs obey VOIP far better than simple chat.

This was done by the same guy who insists that an XL Atlas boating LRMs is totally viable and effective.

I made em work, with stats to back it up. If people can't, then that's on them.

wanna move your hand there...give some other folks room to pat you on the back?

I'm sure Heimdelight, Proton and all are just tripping over themselves to get your input.

So you won't acknowledge an mech unless it is played in a competitive level? Well newsflash, buddy. A mech does not have to be comp viable to be good where most of the player base is. Bottom line is, I showed you enough stats to prove that a forumite can indeed back up his word that the Archer is not a bad mech--something you wanted to see. If you do not want to acknowledge it, then that's on you. I already made my point for all to see.

No. I won't call a mech good because one or two people have good results in solo queue with it. You won 21 of 30 matches, of which 3 were good enough for you to brag about. WOOT WOOT!

Well, dang, by your Criteria, the Vindicator is uber since I have even more screenies of just as good of matched lying around.

I could've given you more stats if I was able to play more before PGI's re-quirkening of the Archer happened. I would be glad to play another 50 matches and still do well with them in my 5W, just to shut your trap. Ah, but then you still wouldn't shut up, would you? You'll just find some other perceived flaws to jaw at. Tell you what. I'll just block you in the forums so I don't have to deal with your salty behind. There, done.

At least I'm making my Archer work just fine in Solo-Q where getting locks is something one has to work at. Less can be said of you.

Um, Bishop, based on my own stats, after only 14 matches, a 5.5 W/L, a 5.5 KDR with an average 607 damage per match and near 2 kills per match is pretty awesome for a ****** un-BASIC'd mech.

It takes a certain kind of player to be a good Archer pilot. Not every player can handle it. Some crack. They can't take it. They walk away and give up on Archers.

It's like any mech. Some people gel well with the characteristics and can squeeze more performance out of it.

Yep, it takes some effort but as you can see in my case, it was well rewarded. I expected the Archer to have positive WLR, contrary to the others' low opinion of the mech, but with more than 2:1 WLR?
DoA my arse!

Depends on your playstyle. If you are comfortable with 270 meter SRMs, then SRM bomber config works. Mixed build also has great success, as Navid illustrated. Personally I like LRMs and the Archer 5W is a good LRM5 platform for it--better than the A1.

Personally I don't like the Archer because anything it can do in a LRM role, my Orion tend to be able to do better. Only the extreme 9x LRM5 speed lobber build may be better, but I have a disdain for it from the old Catapult lobber days.

As for other, more in-your-face Archer builds, sure they can get the job done.. but laser vomit is pretty much done by other chassis in the 70 to 75 ton range, so that leaves splat, and splat doesn't have the "kill" factor down reliably. And if you're going for splat, your ability to stealth is more important than the mech's resilience, so it boils back to pilot skill.

Dunno why people think that--especially now with so many Archers in the field. As long as the team's heavies stay together, the missileers can cluster and stay relatively safe. The recent proliferation is also leading to more Narcers and Tags. Heck, I've been running a poptart Summoner w/ target decay mod-- nothing like hitting some unsuspecting guy with ERPPCs and then seeing my Archers just blot him out.

That's just a silly assumption if they are playing Solo PUG. Tier 1 means the guy has been around to know better when he drops into a trap. Doesn't mean he can always avoid a trap.

Group play or CW can be different though, depending on the setup.

OK

It wasnt a 1000 points of damage.

It was a defeat.

But 3 LRM10+A and 4 mediums.... on a Basic'd only mech too.

I must say I'm actually proud of this one.
