The capture zone is in the flatland g7-h8 in the middle of the map leading to the all mighty I10 heights. The west team start fairly close to each other while the east team is thinly spread from north to south.

East team has to push from two different vectors (F10->G8 gorge and I10 mountain) when east team gets up to I10 west team is already caping the* antenna, to make matters worst west team has some cover around the cap zone but east team must advance with no cover whatsoever for over 1km, and you would think that is bad enough but there is more, east team is spread in two teams and can't regroup before engaging because the clock is ticking and distances are far too long in that map.

TLDR: There is nothing east team can do except push on bad terrain awfully positioned while split in two teams that can't support each other hoping the enemy team is utterly dumb and does something really stupid, other than that it's ggclose for west team.

East team wins by using the height to their advantage that they get from their whole side. West team can only use the little ridge and a good flank can really set them out from there. Anyone on the actual cap is pretty exposed.

I've seen both sides win this rather regularly, though being in the 'death bowl' isn't very fun.

Haven't had the pleasure.... Only played Domination a couple times and it seems to fall far short of my expectations.

I had a great alpine domination match from the east side. Was running an ECM cicada with ER larges on the high ground. I single handedly stopped their timer from moving by poking everyone from huge range and gave locks to the archers on my side who pounded them from cover. Once all were dead we marched into the center and waited

Everyone forgets that the timer stops if anyone in the circle takes a scratch of damage. You don't have to be in there to do that, and Alpine has a massive, wide open death bowl that can be hit from ANYWHERE.

That looks like it requires ER weaponry. I was in a brawling Orion and there was nothing I could come up that didn't involve me getting shot down, which eventually happened of course. In polar highlands another map that punishes slow brawler mechs I can at least find some soft cover, but in A.Peaks Domination everything looked like a perfect flatland to get shot at from several sides.

Just played Alpine domination and I have to say it really is the dumbest map+mode combo.

The west side gets there 20 seconds earlier and has all the cover - as a group. While the east side gets one lance there that's in the open and dies horribly.

Not fun or balance at all. 0/10 would rambo to death again

Played it yesterday for the first time and it was horrible. Bad map combined with bad spawn points and bad placing of the transmitter equals bad experience.
