god dammit we have ecm for a reason


and on a norther note PGI fix this waiting time **** plox


im thinking AMS gets a buff not to make op but to deal with missile spam one AMS should kill more then 3-5 missiles per volley

Right now LRMs have so Many Counters,
making AMS kill more than 3-5 Missles would make LRM5s Useless,
2-3AMS or sets of AMS over several mechs and you have yet another LRM hard Counter,

Let me ask you this What do you see it the Biggest problem with LRMs?

i can deal with lrms quite well but others struggle lrm spam is just hard to deal with when the pug team has no counters and no one mounts ams lost of the time

and if ams killed lrm5 that be great but more the 5 missiles should get though or it will get op D:

3 ams will kill lrm15 spam but it runs on ammo so it will not last for ever so it will be lrm vs ams spam

That video makes me want to run a 12 man with as many LRM100 stalkers as we can fit :P

LRMs- the easiest "you fail" test in the game.

Can't handle LRM spam? You belong in the underhive for lacking any of the simple to relatively complex methods of getting out of the rain.

Also, OP? Hotfix tomorrow. The "wait in squares/green circle" changes much for the better then.

AMS seems about right ATM although I'd like to see some kind of payout for missiles shot down or rounds used. That and open it up to more clan Omnipods so less people are soft locked from running AMS.

Was anyone else expecting that SC to run up and block him from awkwardly fleeing?

LRMS are only good as the people spotting/targeting for the LRMs boaters.
I've seen maps where no one will have ECM and where no one will be spotting for LRMs.
Then I've seen maps where people will have narcs but no one will have LRMs.

I've hit 1000+ damage on my missile boat with good spotters. So yeah, I don't think LMRs are the reason why I got that much damage. It was the spotters and sweet UAVs.

Poor soul... love how his teammates can only stand there and watch him twist in vain. Also befitting that an Archer would die via LRMs.

There's nothing wrong with AMS except not enough people mount them and not enough people know how to use them. AMS engages any enemy missiles that come within 120 meter circle, if the missile passes through the outer edge of the engagement envelope, then the AMS will only engage for a short period of time and shoot down very few missile, if the missiles pass through the entire engagement envelope then the AMS will engage for longer and shoot down more of them - this is particularly effective against Clan missiles systems that ripple fire their missiles. What the two guys with the AMS should have done was move up behind the rise in the center of the screen instead of standing around sitting on their thumbs... Of course, the Archer should never have skylined himself and should have been carrying AMS himself...

Literally almost every chassis is capable of carrying AT LEAST one AMS. If you choose not to run it, that's your pejorative. Don't run it? Don't cry when you get melted by LRMs.

People always say "bring ams"... how is AMS supposed to help THAT?

Even if every mech in that video had ams, that guy would've still died, i guarantee it. That map is utter trash and NEEDS some cover implemented. If its not just some bigger slopes, then deepen the pathways so bigger mechs can actually drop the locks.

Cover on Polar!! you can sneak a Battlemaster into brawl range easily on that map.

Stop peeking and poking on an LRM friendly map, you're only going to draw the rain.

We finaly get a great map that's only downside is it doesn't favour the peek, poke COD crowd, learn to play the enviroment.

I'm an average player at best, stuck right in the middle of tier three. I believe that what keeps me from advancing higher is my positioning and being able to roll damage in the most effective manner. I never take AMS, it seems like I get more out of more heatsinks or ammo.

All this being said I can remember dying once to lrms in the past two weeks and it was my fault for trying to move across open ground. Radar derp and cover are your most effective ways to counter LRMS.

Yeah. AMS is a life saver. The difference in my normal group between one player bringing AMS and 3 players vringing AMS is stagering. You may feel that it doesn't make much of a difference but I can stright up tell you that you are wrong. It is the difference between living and dying. Sure you can and will take damage from LRM spam. But you will reduce that damage by a lot. 3 AMS can make an lrm5 boat using ripple fire useless. It is quite fun actually to see them blind foring at you as you just keep moving forwards and their missiles all get killed mid air. Some sort of reward should be given though. I think that was mentioned on one of the last townhalls.
