Looking back through the events history, the last time we had any sort of "regular leaderboard" event was...

Mid-September 2015 (Territorial Challenge Event)

I enjoy the grab bags and stuff like that, but lately I've been really craving a normal leaderboard event like "Mediums vs. the World," or something like that. Instead, the new trend seems to be that the ONLY leaderboard events have been for pre-ordered mechs and special mech variants that can ONLY be bought for money.

You aren't incentivizing me to buy any of these mechs/packs in order to participate, because the prizes are so laughably pathetic it isn't even worth it, not to mention the fact these have mostly been, "Group and Solo Queue" events, which practically defeats the entire purpose behind a leaderboard.

Can we please just get a normal, "solo-only" leaderboard event sometime? Something in which everybody can participate?

Some of my most memorable matches in this game have been from past solo leaderboard events, as they tend to get a ton of participation.

I could care less leader boards, they are all about who can grind the most hours .

Pffft since PGI unleashed the subpar Battlemeh called an Archer.
I don't think they're gonna have one.
Then to add insult to injury they turned it into a flippin SRM brawler.
I can't wait for the the srm brawler Crusader.
Or maybe the srm Shortbow formerly known as the Longbow.
Yeah Novakaine is one salty panda bout now.

As long as there is a tier split so I'm not tempted to make another alt and ggclose the leader boards with easy back to back 1500dmg games with 6-10 kills.

To be fair, most of the previous leaderboard events were just as bad, but mostly used for "gauging" the quirk situation for mechs... yet still PGI fails to use the telemetry from those events properly (see Vindicator).

The Nova isn't the better part of useless anymore, so that's nice...

But that's an aweful lot of grinding that I don't want to do again. Well, the Nova wasn't a bad grind, because no one was playing it...but the Banshee...man, the Banshee. Did not work out.

Pretty sure the Archer was released to separate out the sub par pilots.

I think they were too successful.

So now they have buffed it. But it is a Lurm boat and if you don't know how to pilot them you will still suck.

Archer event starts tomorrow. When I logged into the Pot of Gold screen I got the Archer leaderboard page and had to use the previous button to get back.

I could care less if it's more about the grind than anything else. It's still something that provides an actual goal/objective to strive for, which this game drastically lacks.

Yet despite people doing exactly this, you'll still see people like Proton and Psichih0lic at the tops of the leaderboards, because for players like them, it isn't about the prizes.

It's about the challenge. Regardless if it's a challenge for who can drop the most on the weekend, it's still a challenge, and something to do.

It's about the challenge. Regardless if it's a challenge for who can drop the most on the weekend, it's still a challenge, and something to do.

I can beat their scores on an alt pretty easy. Before mechstats went down one of my alts had a 50kdr and dozen ace of spades with a few 10kill rounds at like 1600dmg. Even a legit death star out of 75 matches.

That and luck. I'll be participating, just not for the Leaderboard, but for the personal challenge part. And if my Archer happens to get into the Leaderboard, then so much the better! Group queuers will probably tryhard for the Leaderboard with unrealistic numbers, anyway.
