Both do 8-bit-per-channel, and here-tell 5ms was a threshold …

ULMB at 85Hz might be hard to pull off, but at 70 …

I agree with the first review. Gsync > ULMB, especially if you have to cut your light output severely to even use the latter.

OTOH... VA > TN?

No consideration for the PG279Q?

I have no problem calibrating to 60cd/m²/ 6500°K.

What video card do you have? Without knowledge of that, if you have a GTX 480 (for instance), getting a new monitor won't be of any real use, gaming-wise

I recently bought a ROG Swift. Has GSYNC. - Note If you are running an nVidia card free sync no worky. And it's amazing!
Highly recommend if it's in your budget.

It has the same response as the PB328Q (4ms) and twice the refresh - though you do have to enable the 120hz/165hz modes on the user end, which is bizarre but hardly problematic. I haven't seen a review where the Tracefree capability of the monitor is tested out, but it ought not be any worse than the PB328's mediocre result.

If you're not even willing to wander into IPS land, then giving up the same amount of speed to go half-way and getting a VA sounds no better, and it really sounds like you're looking for the attributes of a TN panel. The PB328 isn't a very "fast" monitor itself at all, and barely passes your own cited review on ghosting. It seems like the PG278Q is your screen (insofar as Asus, and why not?)

I just looked at monitors myself last night. Apparently a G-sync 2K monitor with 1ms refresh doesn't exist? Or at least not anywhere near my price range? I thought we were past this. Maybe something just wasn't tagged right for Newegg's filters, even? I usually don't buy from them, but it's easy to look on their site. Input?
