Unless it gets some official dev support and they call some of us in for a beta i probably wouldn't bother with it.

I have VR and a rig to run it but as iv said before head mouse isn't going to cut the mustard, the minimum is keyboard mouse with head tracking on the cockpit look around. And quite probably keyboards will become somewhat clumsy in this environment so joystick mouse might be better especially if some functional cockpit buttons are provided.

Now imagine this guys - not only head tracking, but also hands tracking. So our mecs can shoot separately at three targets (for example). Shoot around the corner... oh my =)

Which is in the imagined reality of a battletech universe exactly the levels of mobility these machines would of had.

THIS. But I won't expect this in MWO or MW5 anytime soon. I'll be content with the head tracking for now. :P

I read on one of the VR news sites that MW5 is getting VR build in and I can't wait. This is the kind of game I bought VR to play! :-D

Would love to play MWO in VR. It would suit it perfectly. Can't wait for my HTC Vive to arrive next week :-)

the Rift is far superior for cockpit games by all accounts... it is why I am going to get the Rift over the Vive. The Vive is better for standing/moving around games but the Rift is far superior for stationary gaming... so MWO & Elite are what I am aiming for.

I've got an OSVR. Haven't played MWO in a couple years. Looking to get back into it. Rather excited to try to get VR to work on it.

Can you elaborate a bit on the 'far superior' statement? By far, I'd say you'd have to beat every category of judgement, being 'easy of use', 'comfort', 'fov', 'image quality', 'performace' and 'price'

AFAIK, the Rift only beats the Vive in price and comfort.
Unfortunately I never had a chance to try the Rift, and with such a small amount of costumer, we need to share all information we can while being the least biased we can.

+1 Vive here.

Founder and whale.

I would back this as well so I could invest hours in alpha and beta.

Come on! It's (oops edit) almost do-able!

I would be back full time if VR was supported. It would be the best game available even over Robo Recall which crazy fun.

Me too. I haven't played MWO since I got my Vive about a year ago. Looking forward to MW5 but not holding out hope that it will come to MWO.

HTC Vive. Would love VR support on MWO! (only head-tracking like when you press left ctrl enabling looking left and right out of the cockpit...)

I have no current plans to get a VR headset, but I would absolutely love one. :) MWO (and later MW5), is actually the ONLY game I would use it with, as it's the only game I play. My personal dream is slightly simpler than head and hand tracking. I picture perpetual free-look (which already moves the arms with it) connected to the headset orientation, with a joystick and throttle providing the hands-on controls. The joystick would only control the orientation of the torso and legs ("roll" for legs, "yaw" for torso, kinda like MW3 and MW4).

The trick then would be to get a joystick and throttle combo with enough buttons to replace the keyboard functions...

As of last week, I'm now a Vive Pro user. Go big or go home, right?

I've been trying to set it up per the instructions on this page, and I've had some luck. The game looks absolutely incredible in VR. However, my VorpX cursor doesn't go all the way to the edges of my headset view screen, or at least, it doesn't appear to. Makes accessing menus at the edges of the screen (where nearly all of MWO's menus are located) extremely difficult!

Have I set it up wrong? Is their a fix for this? It's like trying to click buttons without the benefit of seeing your cursor (it is visible, but it's not where it's supposed to be).

The Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog does not have enough buttons, switches, and dials for MWO? Posted Image

i have occulus and play MWO using vorpx on my alt as it is a lot of fun but difficult to aim and the motion sickness gets quite intense after an hour so does the stiff neck from aiming and re-centering only thing is i feel like im warring a mech mask rather than sat in a cockpit it would be nice to have full optional VR intergration for MWO and MW5

oh yeah have to take off headset out of match trying to use menus is almost impossible
