this probably isn't the right place for this, but after yall download the game have you ever gotten an error message saying you are missing an xinput1_3.dll file or the game failed to initialize? if so how did you fix it?

which version did you download, from this website or from steam?

if from this website launch the patcher then click on the cog icon, top right corner, and run the repair tool.

if Steam, go to the Steam library and right click on MWO, select properties, local files, verify integrity of local file cache, those may not be the correct names as I am working from memory, but should be pretty close.

if those do not fix it and you are on Windows 8 or 10 download Direct X 9 and the Visual C++ redistributable then install them, it may tell you that you already have them installed but run them anyway

Had something similar. Installed clean on a new (to me) Windows 10 machine. Something about the game looking for DX 9 files, and not finding one, and thus not starting right. Downloading/installing DX 9 gets you by that.

Something like that.

Just make sure to install using the June 2010 package. If you use the dxwebsetup and get the message already installed or newer version, then use the redistribution package if needing to re-install dx9c.

And if it works in 32bit but not 64bit or vis-versa, re-install the redistribution pkg. DX installs both 32/64bit files.
