Anyone else getting the firing delay on missiles on the Archer when the missile bay doors are open?

About 50% of the time, there is a long delay to fire missiles on my archers, even though I have the doors open. No, its NOT the weapon cooldown preventing them from firing, its a delay like the doors are closed, even though they are open.

Yep, I've noticed the same issue. Missile bay doors open and sometimes there is a delay and other times it shots immediately, missed quite a few shots.

good, it isn't just me then.

I can't reliably reproduce it in the testing grounds though, but at least it doesn't seem to be a problem with my mouse or anything like that.

You guys MUST be wrong. PGI would NEVER release a new mech with bugs or anything else it shouldn't have. It must be your machines or something.

Yup, but then again the Archer was hrawked up anyway from the git go.
Probably something to do with those ballistic quirksPosted Image

Ok, I noticed something weird going on with my srms on my Tempest, but I thought I was imagining it.

(Or it is the placebo effect and now you guys have convinced me they are messed up ;) )

Cursed because you are shoving SRMs in there? Posted Image

I haven't noticed it, though I tend to have the doors shut most times anymore unless I'm positive I won't get contacts.

I noticed the lag time if firing if missile doors are open and closed and wondered if it was just server lag or something. I did end up removing all my SRM's from the archers.

Honestly, I'd just put 4 SRM6 with Artemis in the arms. Avoid the Bay Door Problem entirely.

If you fired missiles without manually opening the bay doors first, you have to wait until the bay doors close again (light to turn red) to manually open the doors. If you do not wait, then the doors will stay closed even if you already pressed the bay door button during missile launch. That's what I have deduced from my own experience with the Archer.

I have noticed it from time to time. I go to third person view to verify they are open. definitely not all the time but pretty often.

I wish there were no missile bay doors on the Archer. It's by far the biggest handicap on any mech currently in the game.

Agreed. Though it is canon, the bay doors are huge giveaways.

PGI really needs to fix this. Makes an entire weapon system unusable due to it firing at random times.

I am bumping this because I was driving my Tempest tonight and very clearly experienced this phenomenon. I put my bay doors up because I was getting into brawling distance, fired srms and there is a slight hesitation. So, I back away, put the doors "up" again, now a longer hesitation (because I had actually closed the doors. Back up with the doors, by now I am paying attention. If I hadn't fired my srms in awhile the first salvo had a slight delay. Then they fired fine. Until I disengage for awhile, then, the first salvo hesitates again. It is not as long as when the doors are down, but definitely noticeable.

Waited till after this last patch and retried tonight with my Tempest.

Time from button press to fire with doors open about 2 seconds.
Time from button press to fire with doors closed about 2 seconds.
An eternity on the battlefield.
Had to go to 3rd person to confirm they were open.
Tried it with heat vision on and off no difference.

Bump
