ARC-5W is surprisingly a lot of fun with 9x LRM5's. Play Polar Highlands and watch as you score highest damage with little effort and risk.

The rest of variants are varying degrees of average to bad.

I love ARC-5Ws with 9 LRM5s. When you pop out of concealment at sub 180 meters from them, they die so nice.

Thats why Im not the moron standing out without the rest of the group. So that when someone pops out of concealment they meet half (if not more) of our team on coms lol

Its worked really well for me so far in the history of this game lol

For Nostalgia's sake if I had it all over to do again I would just buy the basic pack. The 5W and 5S work the best for me.

Funnily I really just want the lrm5 spam one for shits n giggles lol

How important is it to have 3x mastered? I havent played since before they were making the change to make it less important by nerfing the numbers

They are working for me so far. The 5W and Tempest, at least. I won't recommend using cash to buy them unless you really like Archers, or lurms, or both. Just play carefully, and the mech will not let you down. If you are the impatient type then the mech is not for you.

It helps, I am currently mastering mine. Finished the first three levels and working on the final perk, hope to have them finished tomorrow if I get much time to play. I love the look of them but functionally there are better performing missile boats out there. The low cockpit, and open bay doors they are going to see you long before you see them to get you own locks.

No, It will probably early to mid summer for MC then another few months for cbills, others would know more about release dates than me. I'm just going by the maruader release and what I have read.

See if I can post my archer stats, I liked how El Bandito did that. I was getting too aggressive in the 5W or it would be a bit higher. I'm not good with the laser build archers yet.

It is tracking closer to the Warhammer than the Rifleman with some time left in the event. And the Warhammer is a good mech.

Good thing it got buffed...

The Archers are mediocre. I enjoy them because they were my babies from table top. Mostly a nostalgia mech, but it's my nostalgia mech. I'd avoid XL engines on them, and they do just fine as IDF support. Direct fire or SRMs are kinda questionable as a focus, but you can do it. You have enough hard points to bring some serious firepower to the game, but don't brawl unless you have backup, trying to solo-brawl with an Archer usually ends with a dead Archer.

Compared to other heavies, the archer is an underperformer. For quirks, the Catapult is better for LRM's. For energy boats you are better off with the thunderbolt. Overall, I'd suggest you get the Marauder, its a better overall mech. A MAD-3R and you can run 2 PPC's and an AC/10 and do decent damage quirked in the mid range. There is really no way to get a decided niche for the archer. It doesn't have SRM quirks to allow it to brawl well and use the durability quirks. The LRM quirks are an embarassment. Its just outclassed by the other properly quirked heavies.

I was so disgusted with the quirks, I put in for an immediate refund and got it on launch. I was expecting something in the LRM category to make up for the lack of hard points, but that didn't happen.

I like the 5W with 5xlrm5 and 4xsrm4...
It's ok at longer ranges (just like every 5xlrm5) but absolutly killing it in its sweet zone 180-297m

I use the R and T as mediocre laser builds. I'm in T3, everything works here :D...
