I just wanted to thank all of you that endure the ~200 ping when playing in Oceanic servers. You're the MVPs, as otherwise I would have fewer big stompy robots to shoot.

I also want to express my thanks as an Oceanic player! BTW, a 200 ms ping definitely playable for MWO but lower is of course preferable. The main concern for high-ish ping is zoom lag IMO.

I used to play with all servers selected, then I kept getting dropped matches on Oceanic. Maybe I should check that box again.

I get higher scores in Oceanic servers with 300 odd ping, seems give me the lights style lagshield.

But I stopped playing it, felt like I was cheating the poorer nations.

200 ping is nothing. Since HSR was improved, under 300 ping is perfectly playable. Hell, I have all servers ticked and regularly play on euro with 350 odd ping and it's passable.

I'm only on Oceanic when the one guy in my unit who actually gets good ping there has group lead, but you're welcome anyway.

Good thing PGI rarely pays attention to the forums, otherwise they'd read this and think "Tell me why we are paying for Oceanic servers again?"

I haven't noticed a difference playing 300+ ping. Just the zoom lag, nothing more.

That's a good question.

I mean, if 200 ping is perfectly acceptable according to these fine gentlemen, they should have no problems with playing on NA/EU.

There's occasional warping and significant lock on lag, it's pretty annoying TBH.

I try and leave it checked when I'm not running lights as lights and high ping is kind of cheap and it lets me get away with stuff I shouldn't and thus I get bad habits.

My ping to NA is around 300 ms and to Europe it's even higher, but not much.

High ping sucks. I got 300 to NA, 380 to EU and 80 to Oceanic. Zoom lag is horrendous, target lock is buggy as hell, missing or late hit indication sucks, getting shot after you think you made it to cover sucks. I do have to give credit to PGI for fixing hit reg, even with 380 ping I hit exactly where I aim. If they just make zoom and lock client side life would be infinitely better.
