I think thermal and visually opaque smoke would be a great and tactical addition to the game. It could help obscure enemy mechs from seeing you, by placing it near them or on yourself. Several could be dropped to help move up and take locations.
Thoughts?

I haven't heard of this before when in regard to MechWarrior... While interesting, I still have to ask even though I'm not some 'Rabid Lore Junkie' if there is such a basis in the BT Lore for this kind of item?

If I read that properly, the timeline would support it as well. Unfortunately, it does require special Mech design support, and it looks like PGI probably won't do that any time soon. Heck, I'll support this anyway, just to put a spur in PGI's side since they won't listen about something else that's totally off-topic to this thread.

I've already asked for this a long time ago.
Here is my consumable wish list:
Here is my consumable wish list:
- smoke/chaff rounds - for cover, for blinding the enemy
- airbursts - increased chance of damage on upper half of mech
- mines/cluster bombs - increased chance of damage on lower have of mech, area denial
- sticky incendiaries - massive heat induced on enemy
