Phoenix Hawk Hit Box Issue?

I've been wondering about this for awhile, and if there's been any chatter about it I missed it!?!?!
Come on, look at this thing for pete's sake! Don't get me wrong I LOVE the art design as always, but I don't want to get a pile of broken mechs because of something like this.

I'd prefer to wait on this one i think, i was gonna buy it over the weekend but i talked myself out of it and spent money on Tacos for lunch instead.
Better use of the money honestly.

It's skinny and has lots of protusions (meaning lots of "holes"), which seem to either make hit-reg go crazy or make pilots believe they are aiming in the right spot when they actually are not (guess which mechs have similar shapes? yep, ACH and Spider, two of the most despised mechs of all times hit-reg wise).
I wouldn't worry too much about those fins: if you are driving this thing correctly (i.e.: you never stop running at 100+kph and twisting and jumping like a madman) they will be a non-issue.
Of course, if someone likes staying immobile in a 45 ton mech, the PHX will suck for him even if PGI removed the fins.

I get and agree with all of that but I'm thinking of situations like....
Getting thrown into a brawl and a, I dunno maybe a Black Knight or Grasshopper just sweeps their torso lasers right across you and instead of taking the hit on your left arm like you planned all those pulse hits rip that pylon right off since that's about how tall you are and they line up nice and easy with larger mech's guns so they don't even have to aim.

So much this.
The Phoenix Hawk has always been an oversized 20t Mech, pilot it like one, and you should do fine.

Not even what the thread is about....
I dont care how you PILOT a mech if it has BAD hit boxes it has BAD hit boxes. No pilot can change the design of his mech with his skills or i would be the first one in line to GET GUD.

Honestly, PGI will either not include them, make them null points or they'll be relatively small/thin and a non-issue.

Or the "ticks" of their lasers could go right in the middle of the V shape the fins have and do 0 damage.
Hard to evaluate out of game.
I'm just saying that mechs with similar shape are some of the hardest to kill things in the game, and i'm going off of that to say that the PHX will probably be fine too.

*Sigh*
Precedent thus far provides little in the way of support to mount a counter argument.
It's not so much that they haven't gotten any buffs, it's that it hasn't been enough, and thus far PGI's been unwilling to absurdly buff them at the risk of overdoing it.

*stares unapologetically at the Blackjack*
I'm pretty sure Paul just forgot the Vindicator exists. I wouldn't be surprised.

you know what else "looked" skinny and small, the Shadow Hawk.
you know what else "looked" skinny and small, the centurion
you know what else "looked" skinny and small, the treb
....
well, you get the jist
... and bad hit boxes at 100kph, will still be bad.... but you seem like the kind of guy who thinks the Awesome doesnt need work, so it's moot to even try to explain why quirks came to be.
