Proposing a deployable aerial drone for I.e assaults mechs. I think these slow mechs could use some visual(tactical) support. The idea is that the drone is deployed by using the tactical map. Click on an area on the battlegrid and the drone will deploy and swoop to the designated area from there it will circle in 200m radius in height of 700m sending back a visual feed of the ground and of possible nme/friendly movement to the pilot through one of the cockpit monitors. The drone does not do anything else than giving back a visual feed for 1:30min. Though the drone can be killed, shape, size, hitbox, HP is still undecided.
No. Of drones an assault mech can carry is unknown. I also think it should be restricted to certain assault mechs I.e the Direwolf, kingcrap etc.
As an assault pilot it could be used as and offence/defense purpose. I.e nme setting up an ambush or light ECM mechs hunting fatties.
Hope u guys see some potential in this?

I've got a better idea. Why not integrate 3PV with Information Warfare?
- make the drone a deployable item with a delay
- delay prevents instants switching between modes
- duration will need tuning
- delay prevents instants switching between modes
- display a distortion while switching between views
- creates a mental disconnect
- duration will need tuning
- creates a mental disconnect
- make it a zero-cost module that occupies 2 slots
- great for new players
- experienced players will have to include 3PV in their module decision process
- might be a problem for mechs that have only 1 default slot
- great for new players
- make it suffer at least the same visual degradation experienced from the cockpit when shot at
- allow it to be destroyed
- How much damage?
- How many drones does a mech have?
- How much damage?
- integrate the drone with the UAV module, with the former as default equipment and the latter as an upgrade
- Why even have two separate UAVs?
- reduce the intensity or even eliminate that annoying blinking light that can be seen from way too far
- instead of the combined UAV/3PV drone just going straight up or hovering just above the owner, allow it to follow a vector
- give it compressed 360 degrees of vision, possibly as a pilot module upgrade
- similar to a BT neurohelmet's vision
- hardcore mode?
- similar to a BT neurohelmet's vision

This game from the start was never meant to be a 3rd person shooter let alone have much detail, which is why when going to 3rd person gives no information other than what you can see around you.

Ya know I've got a Great idea. Use the UAV, upgrade it with pilot skills EUREKA!
Sorry this isn't tom clancy's Modern warfare you don't get a drone you can move around, unless you want to be kicked out of your cockpit by a robotic pilot Nope, not happening.

I guess Mystere took my idea to another level and I agree that in no way should manual piloting of a drone should be implemented.
Even though I don't run an assault mech yet, I still think they could assist the team better with viable information from a limited personal/visual reconnaissance. Instead of solely relying on teams ability/mobility to scout 360°.

There is drones already in the game - light class mechs. Guys remember: the game is not single play shooter, it is collective tactical game.

By real radar you mean the mini map that displays blue n red triangulars - either by visual sighting, ECM disrupt or uav?

That radar is a joke, unable to pickup mechs that are behind you let alone unable to keep them targeted unless you have that stupid mod?
