I have my three purchased Nova mechs close to Master level. I decided to get my Nova-Prime(I) to master first and played 5-6 games and each was a victory and got it to master like a breeze. Then I switched to my Nova-B with exactly the same build and it was like playing a different game. My teams were awful and I couldn't do much of anything and lost 5 in a row without a victory.

Is this just luck or better matchmaking for Premium/hero mechs?

I have advanced zoom, and ER Large range and cycle boost that I use on all 3 Nova builds.

Just as an FYI here is my build

Well, normally I wear jeans to work and the bus is right on time, but for the past two days I've been wearing khakis and the bus has been late both times! Coincidence!?

Or, for a less snarky response, you would need a fairly big sample size (e.g. play a lot of games) for this to be statistically significant.

EDIT: My money is on "It's possible, but rather unlikely."

Well said, However possible its extremely unlikely and if so i would think i had seen the trend by now. I own just about every HERO other then the tempest and a Masakari pack and most of my PRIMES actually have WORSE k/d's and w/l's then others.

Also, some HEROS are straight up TRASH TIER (X-5 and TDK come to mind) so saying ALL HERO's is quite a broad brush stroke.

My intention was to see if anyone else noticed anything. Clearly the sample size is too small for anything definitive. I asked on the forums to see if anyone else noticed anything, not to see who can make the most snide response. I do appreciate your taking the time to read it and respond, thank you.

Sometimes it happens. Rarely, but happens. Not necessary with Hero/non-Hero builds. Looks like there some hidden build weighting system. In the past, when map rotation was random, you could notice, that you were always getting hot map, when you were in hot build. You have 3 variants of same 'Mech for example. You play them one after another. After several hours of playing one 'Mech still hasn't it's 2xXP bonus wasted and it seemed to always having terrible teams. There was a moment long time ago, when I was leveling my Awesomes. I was playing every variant till first victory. And it happened. Longest lose streak in my life - only 3 victories after playing for the whole day.

Why it happened? Because my first Awesome variant was doomed to lose that day. First I was following my "till first victory" rule and then I became interested - how long my lose streak could least? It was very fun to tell my team mates, that they were going to lose, just because I was in their team. Matchmaking is extremely unstable - one day may be good, but other may be terrible. Recently I noticed this problem with my Maulers - Gauss one refused to win due to terrible teams. It seemed like PGI expected me to carry my teams. It also happens, that 2-3 first matches in 'Mech, you haven't been playing for a long time, are usually good ones. But then PSR catches up and BAM - you start to lose again.

But premium? Yeah, I noticed, that with premium matchmaking is a little bit better.

You have no proof of these claims WHAT SO EVER outside Personal/Anecdotal experience. Please stop spreading misinformation and speaking on things you have not one single FACT about.

You have no idea how the system works none of us TRULY do other then PGI and i dont even know if they do.

You constantly AKF, Purposely sand bag and then cry that you lost(you post screenies all the time about you purposely doing bad and then wonder why your team lost). Stop making games 11v12, do more then 1 dmg and try you best to help your team WIN rather then crying about loosing before the game even starts.

You defeat yourself it seems before the DS even lets you go.

I think your reap what you sow bud.

LOL, you should first ask yourself "could PGI actually code this in?".

Would save you alot of time.

But you can't prove, that I'm wrong, too. My experience is my experience, whether it's anecdotal or not. MM doesn't work for me. And I don't care, whether it works for others or not. Because I don't care about others. Players are different. MM may work for majority of players, but there is very sad fact about it - this "majority" of players is only about 2k ppl. So... As Morpheus said, what it reality? What you feel - is your objective reality. My experience may be treated as subjective by others, but it objective for me. It's theory of relativity. Deal with it.

According to your signature you have quit playing, and it has been that way for some time, so how could you possibly come to such a conclusion? If you have truly quit playing then I find your input irrelevant and suggest you get back into the cockpit for a few matches before adding your 2 cents.

Now, I'm definitely no expert, still being fairly new but, I've played for over a month on the free play and over a month on premium and I never noticed any difference in the number of crappy players or matches I was linked to. Of course there are a good many early matches where I was the crappy player for which I apologize to the poor saps that got stuck with me. :D I really don't feel paying gets anything more than the bonus xp and c-bills.

The answer to you question is no the match maker is worst for Champ and Premium mechs. This to control grinding and money hording.

PGI wants you to spend money on the game so giving people loads of cash from grinding champ and Premium would defeat that purpose. Don't get me wrong you get more money. However, the ratio of win to losses is swayed toward losses so in the end you make as much money on a loss as you make if you were to win without a champ or premium time.

I have 12 champ, and hero mech that I can grind. I never get wins I had a 26 game losing streak even. That gives you the same results as if you had won without Premium or champ mech.

Rest assured, there is not.

Expect half your team to do poorly 75% of the time. That's the PUG LIFE guarantee

There is no reason to even discuss this because it can never be proven. Just like the ancient egyptian pyramids were made by aliens. Conspiracy theorist...

How would you know if you don't run normal mechs as well?

to OP:

"5-6" games

now do about 9994-9995 matches more (per chassi of course). Then report back.
