Been looking for a little while now and I haven't really found anything.

For those of you who are unaware, the Magistracy of Canopus in Battletech is a periphery nation just galactic southwest of "House Marik".

Known as one of the beacon's of human rights in the Inner Sphere, The Magistracy is a rather open nation to various ideas, including but not limited to cyber enhancement[seriously they have cyber catgirls], GLBTQ rights, Humanitarian aid to their neighbors, and are over all good guys.

Oh did I mention their primary export to the Inner Sphere, is pornography? [gotta make money somehow.]

So I was just wondering if there's a unit out there based on them operating in MWO?

MoC is an available faction in the NBT-MWO league. The first iteration of NBT-MWO, Flavor of the Month Gaming played as MoC. F-M has since broken up though and I haven't heard what's going on with NBT-MWO since the first season.

Pretty soon in the timeline though, Canopus and Liao has an alliance....so

The current MWO map doe snot have the Periphery nations but I suppose some mercenary unit might have decided they are based there. No official faction option for any Perophery state is available.

I don't get how the Magistracy of Canopus can work with the Capellans since they were created out of those not happy with the FWL. It's like a democratic nation splitting from another democratic nation because it's not democratic enough only to work with a dictatorship.

Really the only periphery mech ever produced was the Marshal.

To remedy the problem, Taurus Territorial Industries was commissioned by Jeffery Calderon to build the Marshal, which would see service in both the Colonial Marshals and the Taurian Defense Force. The Marshal uses a standard internal structure and a standard Magna 220 fusion engine that gives the Marshal a top speed of 64.8 km/h while also giving the 'Mech a great deal of survivability. The Marshal's mobility is augmented with four Rawlings 55 jump jets that let it jump up to one hundred and twenty meters. For protection, the Marshal carries ten tons of Durallex Medium Ferro-Fibrous armor, giving it nearly the maximum amount of protection possible.[1]

With an eye towards long isolated deployments the Marshal carries a weapons mix of mostly energy weapons. The only ammunition dependent weapons carried are two Sperry Browning Machine Guns for crowd control and anti-infantry combat and a Delta Dart LRM-5 launcher to give it some long-range firepower. The 'Mech primarily depends on its Sunglow Type 2 Large Laser for long-range firepower and a Diverse Optics Type 27 Medium Pulse Laser and a Diverse Optics Type 18 Medium Laser for short-range combat. Finally, for clearing woods and also useful as an anti-infantry weapon, the Marshal has a Hotshot Flamer.[1]

3050 production date it wont be in game anytime soon.

I really wish there was. I loved the Magistracy, well until they hooked them up with the craziest, worst house in the game. FRR is awesome but the Magistracy was off the wall different.

It is because the line developers got batguano crazy at times and make ludicrous decisions. "Oh let's take the time exodus fleet that cannot carry an entire civilizations technology base, dump them on world's super poor in resources, have them fight their own succession war, transform into something Kerensky would vomit all over and then give them ultra sophisticated tech and have them attack the inner sphere. what could possibly go wrong?" One totally screwed up game later....

I think there is a curse, the curse of the clans, upon the game because it makes folks like Russ make moronic decisions for no good reason.

Taurian's also had a factory through Vandenburg Mechanized Industries that produced stingers as well as griffins and shadowhawks. They got a license through the Capellans, though this was pre Jihad and I'm not sure when each mech got each license.

technically, let's call MoC what it is...the Sodom and Gomorrah of Battletech, where anything goes. Including pleasure circuses that probably cater to Brony and Furry orgies and such. We know why you really want to be one...... Posted Image

actually looks a lot like a Grand Conclave with the Clans....only with a lot more sex.....

The Magistracy of Canopus...where you don't have to let your Freak Flag fly...because it's already the National Banner......

We're running a mechbay tour for CW currently and are indeed MoC atm...but that's only for another week or so, so guys and gals can earn rank-6, "Captain CatGirl" before we move onto Taurian Concordant.

Well, that's kinda obvious, I'm well aware that there's no official faction for the MoC currently. But thank you for your input.
