Hi all. I have played Mechwarrior since the early 90s, my first game for my IBM486 was MW2, and when I heard of MWO I had to support the dev team, if only on principle.

The question I have, there are many houses ingame. Is there a purpose for them? Will there be an inner sphere map to fight over, is there a reason I should join one house over another? Also, I saw some ads for Merc Corps, will there be contracts? Can someone in the community please explain to me the whats and wherefores of this area of the game?

My bet is that community warfare will have a major impact on what happens in the game once it is lauched and things settle down. Houses should provide the framework for who one fights and for what planets since border warfare is the indicated path the game will follow.

well...for one....everyone should join the Draconis Combine since House Kurita are the true heirs to the First Lord throne.

I'll beg to differ. Since the collapse of the Federated Commonwealth, House Steiner is by far the best to lead all the houses towards a never ending peace.

Eh house adds variety, goals, intentions and so on. I'm sure there will be somthing in regards to a story line and its more or less of what ideology do you follow or can affiliate with. Unfortunately that could change on a dialy basis, so choose wisely.

As a player it is only interesting of you want to earn LP for different custom skins and maybe some awards/medals.

I don't see how it will change as they have pretty much remained the same over the last 25+ years. That being said the boarders do change from time to time but they all still survive in one form or another. Some of the Clans will be destroyed... but that is in the future...

I would like to see, lets say, faction rewards for doing well in the faction you choose as well as factions that dislike you more when you fight againist them.

As for idea of the Steiner family being crazy, please name me one House that doesn't have a crazy family ruling it. Last I read Kurita's ruler is battier.
