Greetings Mechwarriors. Today I'd like to share the balance changes from the leaked April Roadmap!

All clan lasers that previously lost their maximum range have had it restored to double their optimal range.

IS Small Laser range increased to 180m optimal and 360 maximum.
IS Small Laser heat reduced to 1.5.

IS Small Pulse Laser range increased to 150m optimal and 300 maximum.

Clan Small Laser heat reduced to 2.

Clan Small Pulse Laser duration reduced to .5 seconds.

Clan Medium Pulse Laser duration reduced to .6 seconds.
Clan Medium Pulse Laser heat reduced to 5.

Clan ER-Large Laser duration reduced to 1.25 seconds.
Clan ER-Large Laser heat reduced to 9.

Clan Large Pulse Laser duration reduced to .67 seconds.
Clan Large Pulse Laser heat reduced to 9.

PPC, ER PPC and C-ER PPC velocity increased by 5%.

Placeholder Clan ACs are now single shot. No further changes are necessary.

LBX spread reduced by 30%.

Autocannon, Ultra Autocannon and Autocannon-LBX velocity increased by 20%.

LRM velocity increased to 2,000 M/S.
LRM spread normalized across all launchers and reduced to 1m.
LRM heat reduced by 2 for every launcher.
LRM ammo increased to 400 per ton.

Heat Scale has been removed.

Heat Scale II has been implemented! Rejoice!

Heat Scale II will affect every weapon equally. A small laser will draw the same power as an AC/20, for instance.

Heat Scale II will work similarly to MASC. You have a maximum second heat capacity of 40 but going above 10 will incur but are not limited to the following penalties; reticle shake, internal damage, mild death, ammo explosions, cockpit monitors will be permanently reset to auto detect:no, and more!

To balance Standard and IS-XL engines we've implemented a new mechanic! Oil Changing! For every 80,000 KM travelled you'll be required to change out the oil and perform a routine check-up. XL engines require more frequent check-ups and are more costly to repair when something inevitably goes wrong.

Oh. I left out the mech changes!

Due to the underperforming nature of the Vindicator it has been removed from the game. Those that already own it will be indivually slapped by Bishop Steiner himself. You have been warned!

The amount I'm going to have to slap myself, apparently gives new, and hopefully less perverse meaning to "self abuse"..... *sigh*

This raises an interesting point.

Would a Fusion engine. Have. Oil. At all?

It sounds like a very static housing with few moving parts; if any.

Well, one could look to Nuclear Submarines or Nuclear Power Plants as an example.

Machine Gun Rate of Fire increased to 20 bullets per second.
Machine Gun Spread removed, it is now pinpoint.
Machine Gun Range increased to 300/600 meters.
Machine Gun Ammo increased to 4000 rounds.

Spider 5K: Gains an additional ballistic hardpoint in each arm.

Oh, that reminds me. I left out the AMS changes.

AMS ROF increased by 3,000%
AMS Ammo per ton increased to 1,000,000.
AMS now has a Heat Scale of 0. Firing 1 or more will generate a tremendous amount of heat. You're firing thousands of rounds per second, does that really surprise you?

All mechs now have AMS quirks. Even those that can't equip AMS. This will be fixed in a later patch, probably.

Black Knight 6B now has a 10% Ballistic Velocity quirk.
Black Knight 7L now has a 10% Ballistic Velocity quirk.
Black Knight 10X now has a 10% Ballistic Velocity quirk.

Future tech is amazing. Going to be a big year I think. These are coming out in April also.

Did you know when they increased the speed of LRMs to 170 people just flat out balled. so the buff was reduced to 160 m/s

But this OMG a LRM oxide would be a beast having the LRM fly faster than PPC and AC fire.

Meh, not even a very good April fools joke, ERPPC only buffed by 5% velocity?

Make that PPC buffed to 1500 ms velocity and CERPPC returned to 15 PPD, then I might fall for it.
