You really think people are going flock to shell out 20 more bucks for the Collectors? I suppose they might, but not feeling it.

Does a good job of retaining some of the look of the old TRO art, while also improving on it.

Seems like a nice niche in the Clan line-up - a good mobility-oriented medium with a flexible variety of hardpoints. Not a pure bucket-o-guns,. but enough firepower to be useful, and an overall weight that helps to fill in drop limits. I was hoping to see this one show up.

You just pay 55$ and have fun with your shiney new viper... and leave us whiners who are actually trying to put more value in the shiny packs you're buying.

The people you are speaking of are the same *****s who paid 40$ for urbie collector. a 30 ton useless light mech.

PGI got the wrong message it seems.

Good luck convincing that greedy bunch to reduce their collectors price.

well, I appreciate being called a "*****" and all, truly. And blanket stereotyping is always a great way to make a point. Well, actualyl it's not.

And just because you can't make it work, well doesn't make it useless, regardless of your tier badge. (I mean, if you are going act like a dbag about it, might as well respond in kind)

So work with people who are trying to get legitimately more value out of the packs, then whining for jumbo packs that were equally poor value for most of us. Unless you enjoyed spending 80-120 bucks a pack for maybe 2 worthwhile mechs. (And don't start on the variants, since pretty much all of them end up being run as one androgynous mess anyhow)

Urbie isn't useless. Okay it isn't an Arctic Cheetah but in the right hands it can hold it's own.

I was one of the ******s. And i apologize.

I can do alright in the urbie.... (see signature)

Well... i can't see any way PGI is gonna change their pricing. What sort of leverage do we have?... nothing?

Our wallets, and twitter, is probably about it.

Whether or not people can or want to, resist the new shinies in numbers enough to matter, is another question. And unfortunately for you, me and everyone else, the only question that really matters. Because if PGI still see the sales they want, then whether you or I agree, they are on the right track, as a business.

My thought is that once we start pushing past the Nostalgia Purchases, and blatant Meta-Machine choices, the Mech of the Month will slow in sales too (note it was after several months of lackluster offerings and responses, like the Vindicator that they embraced the Jumbo Pack pattern, then after the comparative fail of the last couple Jumbo Packs and relative success of the Urbie, MAD and then WHM packs that they pushed out of Jumbos, and just now confirmed them dead and gone).

If and when they start seeing sales slow, that is when they are most prone to listen. (At least partially). If they don't see sales slow, then realistically, they have no reason to.

And for some dang reason I can't see yours or anyone else's (mine included) signature. Haven't for months. Pretty dang annoying.

Did you accidentally disable signatures? It's easy to do with a mobile phone, you have to be really careful.

Yeah that's all we have. Good luck stopping people from throwing money at PGI. I'll see what we get in the pack before i throw down.

I'm on a computer, but don't think I did so. I remember a few months back there was a forum issue with imgur and photobucket links, and I've seen no siggies ever since.

The most important question is: does it come with a quacking duck warhorn?

I think it's good to have every tonnage slot filled so at least you have the options...especially for a CW dropdeck.
(though I doubt the Viper will be used heavily in CW, since that 10 tons over a ACH could be used for a HBR -> TBR or whatnot)

Perhaps not, but with 75% more armor (7 tons of FF) and a whopping 8 jump jets... it doesn't look like it'd necessarily a losing proposition.

No, it really doesn't.

The strongest Cicadas are the 2A, 2B and formerly the X-5, and the slowest of the trio was the X-5 with a 280-295. The 2B runs a 300 and the 2A runs a 330.

For a mech with a glass jaw and that little armor, being unable to hit from angles that an enemy doesn't expect is outright dangerous, especially with a weapon that requires that much face time like UAC5s, sorry but that is nothing more than a joke build.

Alex is the only reason PGI gets my money. He keeps drawing me in to buy the shinies. This definately isn't an exception. I'm going to buy it and like it as I cry from how expensive it'll probably be.
