So I started again a small month ago, and so far I'm loving my UAC5 KGC and especially my brawler marauder with SRM's and MPLs, although I fare well in the Ebon Jaguar in pugs, it feels too squishy to me (possibly due to being hard to torso twist).
At first my plan was to go buy a Dakka direwolf (3x uac5, 2x uac10), just for the pure insanity of the dakka dps you can put out with it, and because I love ballistics, but now the Atlas with ECM (3xSRM6, AC20) is appealing to me too, because ECM in pug matches could come in so handy whilst trying to get in brawling range.
Anyone got experience with those? Which one would be recommended to get first?
Thanks in advance

Out of the 2 I would definitely take the Atlas, but that is because I need speed, a 300 engine is too slow for a 100 ton Mech in my opinion but a 325 or 350 is OK.
the Dire is great at mid to long range provided it is supported but pretty much useless up close due to slow turn/twist speed and limited twist range while the Atlas excels up close, and I prefer fighting up close.

Very very different mechs.
Close range brawler for the Atlas
Long range punishment for the Dire.
Since you have a KingCrab if you want variety go with the Atlas.
Or if you want something in a similar style then go DWF (try 6x UAC5s, fired in groups of 3)
Have you tried the trial Atlas? It would play fairly similarly to the DDC model.

Cheers for the advice guys, I didn't have the chance to try the atlas as trial mech, but I think I'll roll with it since I really like brawling.
Thanks for the advice!

Since you've chosen the Atlas, Imagine this... Four tonnes scavenged from elsewhere an that AC20 can be replaced by dual Uac5s

The mount is so low that you cant take advantage of their range unless you are fully exposed. Also requires a lot of face time, where as the traditional atlas build is the king of twist and shout (alpha, twist to one side and count to 4, alpha twist to other side and count to 4)
