I'd like to know if I'm getting better at my builds or if I'm still doing something all wrong.

You've just linked a build for the wrong variant, -0000 instead of -000. But from that build, I can only suggest - remove the XL engine and put the standard back in there unless you want to die prematurely, get double heatsinks and endo-steel and if necessary, drop that LRM down a few tubes. Try KGC-0000

Thanks for the advice, so I wasn't too far off. I meant the 0000 variant, 000 was a typo.Posted Image

Future advice, especially after DHS, ammo on side torso + XL = no no. Put them on legs, arms, heads, anywhere other than the same place as XL. Center might be ok, because of the highest armor allocation.

EXCEPTION, will be the case of Gauss ammo, they don't explode, but instead the weapon itself that will explode. Usually one will equip case + gauss on side toso, however on arms the explosion don't transfer (which means no need for case), and in KGC scenario you'll never need a case as every balistic hardpoints on the arms.

Also, drop the LRM, no use.
Honestly, if you purchase it, the stock build is not that bad, close enough, just readjust here and there. Assuming you still mean the 000, not the 0000. (5t spare, more laser for ranged hot poke, or hsink for cooler fight)

Hi Washcloth,
so planning a King Crab 0000, well first thing I( did notice is that XL engine, I do admit XL engines do work for some players but as it stands a assault Mech that will be focused on during the match, it is preferable to be more solid, a standard engine will keep you in the game longer.

The command console is sadly just 3 tons wasted, a beagle active probe to more for less tonnage, again do you really need electronics in an assault Mech? what you really need is fire power.

no double heat sinks ?? those are a must. Endosteel for a King Crab is also needed.

Ultra AC5, well they are fun but the regular AC5 is lighter, takes one slot less, is cheaper and doesn't jam.

Since you clearly go for a long range build, the ER PPC might be good on paper but the projectile it fires is slow and easy to dodge, why not switch for ER Large Lasers, those are almost insta hit.

well here is my suggestion.
