Every mech will sell. But if PGI continues releasing ones that can not and/or do not sell well then they will probably jump the time line sooner. Russ is a businessman he knows what he is doing. Imo I thonk the Phoenix Hawk isn't selling well really, Viper idk we will see how heavy they advertise it. If the next few mechs flop as you say then they will have little choice but to jump ahead.

Do you mean the Wolverine IIC Conjurer (Hellhound), or the MW4 thing that is not considered an official Mech?

I'll work to make it official

I imagen the Phoenix Hawk is doing alright, it's a rather important Mech to those of us that played early TT as well as being highly important in the Crescent Hawks series of PC games. In other words to the older whale crowd.

Good luck, you need to take it up with Catalyst Games.

David White's art is way better than that gundam **** from CBT. No two ways about it. If you want gundam mecha go play robotech.

I am not saying it didn't sell, just didn't sell well I think. I mean the fact they had to have a image of its model posted not even a month after they announced to advertise a town hall and it, I mean it would have made sense for the Kodiak more in terms of time frame, so imo I think Kodiak sales did really well but Phoenix Hawk didn't as well as expected. Like you said the only ones who know about it really were the older "wales".

You are absolutely correct, I think what hurt the Phoenix Hawk and Viper is that they are priced the same as the Kodiak, so the perceived value of the Phoenix Hawk and Viper are skewed badly.

Me? I'm very, very happy with my Phoenix Hawk package, only thing that would make it better would be to have PHX-HK1 or PXH-HK-M.... But then again those were the mechs that drew me in from Macross.

Gundams, Dougrams and Robotech are sort of the basis for Battletech which is the basis for MechWarrior, ergo.....

That said I'd support Conjuror and Hellhound as separate mechs in MWO, just not gonna hold my breath.

Timberwolf > Night Gyr

...that said I'm glad at least one other person is buying it.(Will you get the top pack or go Navid on it and refuse to buy the mech you championed for?)

I'll park it in my under ground lair, on my freaking island, protected by angry salmon with laser beams on thier heads.

Seriously though who else is going to buy it? Because sales are what's important.

The Timber will be better at some things but not at others. Dakka and Dual gauss for instance.

To be honest I might get the whole package since I'made really excited about that mech. I will for sure get everything but the Collectors (since 20 extra dollars for a duplicate variant is a little steep), but I might spring for it if everything looks good (geometry, how high they make the arm guns, etc).

I'm just saying we're at the point of stagnation. I was hoping others realized this but sales will have to do the talking I guess.

Mechs are mechs that's why they should be priced the same, if my Dire Wolf hands down was better than a light mech, I should never worry about a light mech killing me... Oh wait... Why don't most people use Dire Whales.

Point 2 if my gold dire whale cost $260 then it should 13x better than every mech, but then that would be pay to win correct?

Can we get a forum poll how many people actually pilot a Dire Whale still? I bet you it's nothing compared to oxides or timbers...

You are right mechs are mechs, they take about the same amount of work for PGI to make. Even AL a cart, a light cost as much as an Assualt Mech. But what I was pointing out was perceived value, people may find it hard to pay the same price for a Medium as they do an Assualt Mech. Like I said, I'm happy with my Phoenix Hawk pack, I just wish it had some LAM's, but I recognize that MWO is not currently set up to properly support their movement type.

Yeah, Night Gyr...I might not get out of that mech for a long time...

Because every game before this one light mechs sucked and assaults were the best.

As an assault pilot I'm pissed becuse we've received the most nerfs, yet we pay the most and are considered the hardest chassis to use because we're so slow, every move is a choice, that could end up your quick demise.

In game, light mechs are little more than a small engine a couple of weapons and a thin layer of armour.

For example a Locust 1V stock is 1.5m c-bills, most of that being engine. Yet an Atlas AS7-D is 9.6m c-bills, yet that Atlas has nearly as much armour on it as the Locust weighs, on top of that the engine in that Atlas is nearly twice the size of the one in the Locust.

Well, IMO it's because when you buy a package you do it to have the mech before anyone else who hasn't. ( You pay 20 or more US$ for that privilege ) Once the mech goes for MC or C-Bills, then you pay and it's the same privilege for all mechs the actual in game value.

I wouldn't mind it if costs of chassis were a bit more equalized, that may help out with the price disparity issue, but doubtful considering the worst lights are quite a bit worse than the worst assaults.

What about MC price?

I mean the average price for Adders is 2,800 MC per while Dire Wolfs is about 7,000 MC per....

Take now

Adder: 4 x 2,800 = 11,200MC ($49.95 MC package)

Dire Wolf: 4 x 7,000 = 28,000MC ($99.95 + 14.95 MC packages...)

You see the issue now? You would still be needing to spend a crap ton of money if u used MC to buy each chassis this is pretty much buying them with real money and now......

Here is the bottom line, I'm getting tired of pumping money month after month into MWO with little return. I love BATTLETECH way too much (and Alex's art) lucky for PGI. That said I'm getting to the point where I'm tired of buying mechs I have zero use for. If I'm at that point others have long since stopped buying mechs, so now is the time to start hitting us with the top popular mechs,

There will be no new revenue stream added until single player / Co-Op makes it out that's over a year away, so for the next year I'd attempt to keep people interested.

That simple if you don't they may walk. I in no way keep PGI running, but I definitely help, My unit is pretty much gone my friends only buy mechs that are useful at this point (or really hit the nostalgia meter). The well on buying bad mech after bad mech is drying up.
