So we know that faction specific mechs are in game but not really divided by those factions besides Clan and IS. I.E. Mauler and Dragons despite being Kurita only really any house can drop them in CW ect.

With the recent Viper announced it got this Ghost Bear thinking (and for good reasons!) a signature faction deck for a bear while being competitive and decent. Granted it might require some of you guys to bring more then just four laser vomit Heavies. For the more lore say type this could be an interesting discussion to set up for those looking for a faction drop deck to enjoy the game more while also not holding back your team (aka bringing a stock Mad Dog Prime o.O)

For instance a very solid Ghost Bear Drop Deck would be....

Kodiak (100tons)
Mad Dog (60tons)
Mad Dog (60tons)
Viper (40tons)

Obviously the builds would need to reflect more to meta (aka probably Mad Dogs with heavy SRM/S-SRM builds) but could also add some flavor to each faction now if they could run historical loadouts ect. Though I know yes some (boring) folks run the same (boring) builds on almost all their mechs for...reasons.

What so you guys have in mind? I know there is no way to ever force people into this and for good reasons they should not, this is just a fun post that maybe some warriors or units would be willing to try? Someone could document unique good drop decks for each faction and be not to bad a base for some players.

(sorry reposted from Faction warfare no one around in there I guess)

Well for me in CW being Davion, I currently run:

WHM-6R(S)
BLACK WIDOW
RFL-3N(S)
LEGEND-KILLER

All are dressed in the Davion faction cammo too.

Unfortunately, the game is not setup to handle a true Steiner dropdeck of AS7-D, AS7-D-DC, AS7-S, AS7-RS...

I actually did fairly well with 2x Awesomes and 2x Cicadas when the dropdeck was weighted such.

I also toyed with that line-up, along with a Stalker, Orion, Cicada x2 lineup the first couple weeks CW was out. I averaged about 1200-1800 damage a match, which is tolerable but not spectacular (and not good enough by my own standards).

Unfortunately, switching to a more conventional (for the time) Stalker, Thunderbolt, Thunderbolt, Firestarter deck boosted my scores so much, I just gave up on the faction flavor thing.

Wouldn't this be the more appropriate drop dec lore wise for Ghost Bear (since it consists of front line mechs)?
Executioner (95tons)
Mad Dog (60tons)
Mad Dog (60tons)
Viper (40tons)

I would imagine CSJ's would be fairly similar
Dire Wolf (100tons)
Ebon Jaguar (65tons)
Ebon Jaguar (65tons)
Arctic Cheetah (30tons)

CJF
Warhawk (85tons)
Summoner (70tons)
Hellbringer (65tons)
Kit Fox (30tons)

CW
Gargoyle (80tons)
Timber Wolf (75tons)
Stormcrow (55tons)
Ice Ferret (45tons)

I've been screaming (more like fervently typying) that they needed to offer LP boosts to certain mechs for the factions.

This would be the most appropriate CJF drop deck.

Yes but not you have 5 tons left over, plus Kodiak will probably be better then the Executioner. I get your point and did think about that. But that is one difficult mech to make work in CW. But then again so is a Mad Dog.hmmm.

Love the idea, but what would you do for FRR lore deck?
Going off of Sarna:

4 Dragons?
Mauler, Dragon, Dragon, Crab?
2 Maulers and 2 Panthers?

Like I say, I like the idea of the signature decks, but given the limitations of certain mechs (in the case of the FRR the Dragon...alas, one of the few mechs produced in the FRR) I just don't see such decks being viable -at least without wasting tonnage (A Mauler and 3 Crabs maybe?).

Not really, the Executioner can work out fairly well in CW, sure they isn't the best but they aren't that bad, better than the Mad Dog.

FRR units used a sizeable chunk of Steiner and Kuritan 'Mechs, though leaning more towards Kurita. Later on, they were more or less a ComStar protectorate outside the Ghost Bear owned planets.

Not enough mechs in game now, but eventually it would be feasible.

Yeah, its a shame though, it would be the only CJF assault mech in game. Warhawk is actually a CSJ mech.

I'm aware, but out of all the Omni assaults in game I believe it is the one they had the most numbers of iirc.

I might now that we can do the Regulan Hussar's siege lineup of 2x Trebs, 1 Centurion and an Archer, though my teammates would probably not like me lol.

I used a Treb for a while when CW was new, but it just gets stripped too easy because of how big it is.

Clan Hell's Horses got closed out of the initial invasion and do not get "play" until 3062-3063 but:

4x Hellbringers

I know. Makes me sad.Still haven't settled on a proper "steiner" Lance... Zeus is OK in solo, not great in my experience anyhow, in CW, and Commandos and me just don't click. But as a Davionist, I should probably build a more AFFS themed drop deck anyhow, with CN9-D, RFLs, etc......
