What kind of printer are you using? A buddy of mine and I want to split the cost of one but I have no idea what a good one would be. We'd really only be using it for Battletech models, as well as some larger MWO models to sit on desks, like that gorgeous Marauder.

this is SLS technology. You have to order the prints from big printers like Shapeways.com unfortunately. The machines are very big production size type. The beauty of SLS is that you print in powder and do not require supports which gives you better details and less post-finishing hassle.

Yeah if it's being done at a professional level, SLS makes perfect sense. To me it's the more "industrial" of the two technologies (SLA and SLS). Big, expensive machines and some health concerns due to working with fine powders. You never want to breathe in that kind of stuff.

SLA seems better suited to your hobbyist with room in the garage/basement. Cost of the machine is a lot lower as well, e.g., Form2 being ~$3,000.

very true. You still require special solvents to clean and cure SLA parts but this can be done in a garage or even desktop. SLS require much bigger setup with powder filtration and parts polishing etc.

Imagine our city starting to have 3d printer shop that takes order. Then all i need is to send the files and w8 a few days......
It took me 2 days to clean the models, but half a year just to slowly sticking papers with super glue

Long shot here, but does anyone have this STL file still? It seems like a LOT of the MWO stuff has been removed from Thingiverse, including this file. I am looking for this specific file, as I like the pose the mech has versus others I have found.

If you have it, please shoot me a PM.
