First, sorry for my english... i used google translator, my english isn´t so good and i with this translation i hope all can unterstood what i mean.

Current situation:
There is no Merchandising Store

Suggestion:
A merchandising shop introduce where you can buy real goods such as the cockpit Hanging and standing items, coffee mugs with the MWO Logo house Logo, Patches of Fractions T-shirts with faction logos or with various mechs and text etc, bumper stickers, posters of Mechs or events or Solaris VII Posters, and more what with BT and MWO has to do. All you need so and can not do.

Hoped-effects:
Having a source of additional income and for real fans another way BT and MWO products in real life and to show (Such a Mechstanding Item would what fine large on the back of my box with the DVD collection or a red T-shirt with the house Davionlogo it forward on chest small, my coffee would also feel more comfortable in a cup with the MWO logo or the house Davion Logo and taste better Posted Image ). Possibly more advertising for the game.

Of course, with reasonable prices. Utopian prices like $ 40 for a cup of coffee would be out of place in this case and would only generate Loading ... Hütter

For the price in the store should be as a guide take the mean of Amazon prices or other merchandising stores of other games

The quality ones of the goods must of course agree. A T-shirt with light fabric (cheap products) of rips same time NOT OPTIMAL and sells customer would possibly buy more from the shop if the quality is right. T-shirts from the solid good material (cotton) and made long, however hold also attract customers to the then possibly order more.

T-Shirts I could imagine in this design or something like that:

Posted Image

T-shirt from the company 7.62 design have very good quality.

http://www.7point62d...ons/all-mens-ts
it gives also for woman Posted Image

Ifs of dennen comes I pay to make up to 30 times $ (some t-shirts from 7.62 I use it 5 years and they still hold)

In much webshops can the user create individually design, shirts or Coffee Mugs, ( T -Shirt / Coffee Mugs with its favorite Mech , Unit Name , Group, Rank ( FactionPlay or Unit Rank ) and nickname ) , are already enough small shops of small firms where can be make.

So Why PGI don´t make it? I think it is a very fine Idea for the community and let PGI make more Money without mechpaks. And i can sell a Coffee Mug with House Davion Logo and a Red T-Shirt with a big House Davion Logo on the Back.

Edit: Like this post often, so PGI know the Community would have a Merchandising Shop for MWO.

Due to license and copyright, they would end up paying all earnings to the rightful owners. A lot would probably go to Microsoft (or the Battletech company... i don't know...).
PGI doesn't own any of the "content" used in MWO and this was actually covered in one of the earlier Town Halls this year.
A lot of us want that merchandise, but it would never generate profit for PGI if they where to handle it.

Their license does not permit merchandising, as far as I know.

Hmm...
Why PGI don´t sell the rights for Merchandising?
And they have also bring the classic mechs in the game where the copyright is by harmony gold or other companys (like marauder, phönix hawk, etc.)

Battletech is currently owned by Topps (primarily a sports trading card company), which has licensed the game to Catalyst Game Labs.

They don't have the rights to those kinds of things. They don't own battletech/mechwarrior and only have the rights to make this game, not physical products. Don't know why they don't get those rights or have a business partnership with the people that do though. Guess they don't think it would work out, or the other people that control those rights don't think it will...

If I recall correctly (and I might not) the issue with who owned the rights to those was always a bit fuzzy (like they could always use the names but not the likeness of those mechs). Companies avoided those mechs because HG would sue and the companies just didn't want to deal with it. But recently there was something that happened that made that less likely and PGI changed the looks by what they think should be enough.

You can't sell what you don't have.

That's hard to explain in English, and it wouldn't make it through a translator program.

PGI can't sell the rights that does not own.

CGL/Topps owns those rights and they used to sell T-shirts and such items. I guess that Microsoft probably owns merchandising rights too. IWM owns miniatures manufacturing rights.

All those 'Mechs, that you can see in MWO or in new CGL products (such Marauder, Warhammer, Phoenix Hawk, Archer, etc.), are not Harmony Gold's designs. They have original PGI- and CGL-created artwork - that's why they can be used in MWO and BattleTech.

The copyright is disputed on these, and there are copyright laws that allow material to be used if there is some amount of difference between them. Very notably the size of the marauder's cockpit, location of ballistic hardpoint in the shoulder, etc. is different than Harmony Gold's design.

And yes, PGI would do well selling physical goods with their art if they ever got the rights for Topps/CGL. I know I'd buy a couple things.

You can't buy what ain't for sale. The original contract was negotiated years ago, and I don't think PGI has the man-power to throw at a re-negotiation. As is, the current contract expires in... 2020, I think.

Russ has talked about it at a town hall. He clearly stated they only have the rights to make the game. Anything else they can't.. They can't even sell a t-shirt or coffee mug with MWO on it.. Jokingly he did say, ask the folks that own the rights, but back tracked quick, saying don't do that.. He did say, they could do free give aways,, like say make a t-shirt for the up coming tournament, but that's about all they could do.

Yeah.

I would buy minis of some MWO 'Mechs. Oh well.

I will just wait until CGL/IWM offer their minis - their BattleMaster and Marauder are great.

The really stupid thing is, it's not even HG's design! They try to pass it off that way, but it flat out isn't.
