Can you refuse transmission of your game and do the twitch broadcasters have to care?

Like a game I was just in where I did 100 damage in a mauler cause my own team cored me from behind before I even got shot at. If I said I didnt give the rights to broadcast that do twitch streamwers have to care?

Uh.. i think its implyed that you agree to be broadcast if you dont say that at the beginning of the match, when the few twitch people post that they are streaming..

Basically by playing the game you've entered a public forum and since there are no images of you personally or your name, anyone may record and broadcast the match.

You own nothing in this game, its not yours. But to say you dont want a bad game streamed is kinda, lame? Who cares, if you are so worried about someone thinking you are bad then maybe dont play where people can see you? Like a TRUE pvt server or even a game thats PVE?

When you go to a football game do you have to sign a consent form to be on the Kiss Cam? Or aired on TV, hell they make money off that even.

Yes it is pretty much the public, its not private and open to anyone who wants to come play. How can that be considered pvt at all? Where does it say anywhere these are Private servers? Yes you have to blur out PEOPLE because they didnt give consent for THEIR face to be shown. But non of this is HIS face or even his STUFF its PGI's currently so you more then likely adhere to their rules for this stuff in the CoC already.

Im sure its in there already, something along the lines of "we reserve the right to makes changes to this without telling anyone or even needing consent".

You can't stop them from broadcasting something they are receiving on their end. They do not need your consent, since you are consenting by playing a game with other people. Just like I could take a screenshot of this page and post it on a blog.

They can just not tell you they are streaming at all too and you would never know unless you were frantically searching all of twitch every match. They could also record it and put it up on youtube later on.

Are you trolling btw? You got shot in the butt and killed by a teammate and you are wanting it not recorded? Why not just report them and move on?

Don't take this the wrong way but, nobody cares that you did poorly in one match in your Mauler. Bad games happen and even if they do recognize you there isn't an evil group hiding in a swamp somewhere looking for the one thing that will forever ruin your reputation. If there was, this wouldn't be it.

(And I hope that you have better game(s) in the future. Again, bad games happen. It's fine. Don't worry about it!)

Are you talking about a COMPANIES physical location that they OWN? Which is no different then YOUR house no one is allowed to walk on the property if you dont want them to, sure, its Private in that aspect. But if that was the case the google maps truck would have to omit your house from the pictures on Google Maps.


Have you ever been to a concert or sporting event? Did they ask you consent to show you and your loved ones on the Kiss Cam? Or if a band sold footage of an old concert say at the Grand ol Opera house did they send each person in the crowd a consent form?

Are you really not seeing the absurdly huge difference here? What did you OWN that they streamed?


I understand your ego is chomping at the bit and maybe, just maybe, someone who knows you MIGHT see that game and give you a hard time but I think you will live....

Sounds like you have been watching me. But yeah bad games happen sometimes because youre drunk, tired or just faffing around. Sometimes, rarely i even make a tactical mistake and deserve the early death.

Nope, its not pictures of you or of something you own or have rights to. Its generated from digitally rendered game object owned by PGI that you are licensed to use while playing their game, You also have no expectation of privacy because the matchmaker could match you with literally anyone, and using recording software to my knowledge doesn't violated TOS. . so no, you have no rights in regards to contesting publishing of the content of the match.

If you copyrighted the name Mechwarrior Buddah and owned the copyright of the image of the mech you were using you might be able to block them on the grounds that they were violating your intellectual property. But once that sex tape gets out the DMCA won't do much to cease and desist it from propagating in the wild.

Don't feel bad. It happens to everyone in the pug queue at some time or another. If the matchmaker gives you a bad enough team you'll have multiple low scoring games no matter what you do. Hence the fustration with PSR/ELO.

I embrace my f***-ups for what they are, regardless if nobody notices or if it just happens to be right in the middle of a Sean Lang stream that happens to get highlighted to youtube and posted to reddit+forums later.

We all make mistakes in videogames... if you're afraid of admitting to it and trying to find excuses to hide them, then that's petty and sad.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but you don't own anything.

Don't own the mechs, don't own the game, don't own the servers...

So what exactly would you be denying them the rights to?

I think it's a grey area, but I also think its pretty sad you care about it, because you got a bad score
