[Zap Gun For Hire]

Hi all,

New player here. I tend to keep a low profile in games and forums, but I'm experiencing an issue with the chat feature during matches that I am sure is causing me, and of course, my team issues during pug drops.

During a match I never see team/lance chat messages during the match. As soon as I am dead or the match is over, any and all chat messages sent by my team are immediately visible. It's aggravating to see messages about grouping up or where the enemy is pushing after I'm dead or the match is over.

However I can see and send team/lance chat messages before the drop and after the match.

Is there a chat bug or known problem?

Searching the forums turned up several old threads about other chat issues but none that pertained to my situation.

Never heard of that problem before. Sometimes (sometimes!) I don't get to see my own message, but other players see it normally.

Check the settings (GAME tab) to see if you have the chat boxes checked.
If that doesn't help, try the repair tool (available under a little cogs icon in the top right corner of the launcher).

The chat box disappears about 15 seconds after the last message has been said, if you try to chat it should make the box refresh.

Not 100% but I think that's accurate, I don't have the client up atm.

Although if they NEVER appear as you claim I'm not sure what the problem is, maybe something in the options.

Hi,

Thanks for the replies. I doubled checked my settings before posting my original query and both boxes for Team and Lance chat are checked. Also, I can use the team chat channel before the mission starts (in the drop ship) and after the game ends to send messages like "gg" and "gl hf" which I see, as well as any replies from teammates.

But, I have yet to see a team chat message during the match itself. Perhaps other messages about mech kills and deaths push the chat messages off the visible screen. Regardless, I'm doing my best to watch for team messages so as to not become "that guy" and play with the group. But I don't see these messages until the game is over. *shrug*
