I know you said not to go there but I am pretty happy with the Viper. It will fill my Light slot nicely. I run my Heavy 10 tons under weight so going 5 over on the Light works.

That being said, I want to see the Firemoth in game. Just run it at whatever the games max speed is and then compensate the lost speed with a little more armor, structure or weapon tonnage. That is the only other Light that I will pay real money for.

I'll admit, I do love the Piranha.. it was a favorite when I first saw it... uh.. well.. 20 years ago.... Yeah, I been playing Battletech/Mechwarrior that long, it was a lighter version of my IS Thug (My Thug had 2 ER LG Lasers and 12MG). And for those asking for another light.. you do realize we do have the Flea coming, the art for it was shown off some time ago. Also wouldn't mind seeing the MON-66 Mongoose for the IS and the Vixen (Incubus) for Clan.

I love all lights so i don't care which one we get, but i'm afraid the Flea will not be it: Russ said "it's dead to him"... i'm not even sure what that means, but i doubt that we will be seeing it soon.

Yeah and Im also for Valkyrie, despite that a few says otherwise. Just the name and some of its looks makes it fittingthe FRR space nordic setting

The only possible reason PGI has for not releasing the Stinger/Wasp/Valkyrie anytime soon is because they were based on the Valkyrie/Veritech fighters of Macross/Robotech.

These three mechs are the ones PGI has to be the most cautious about in terms of designs, so that leaves only about 3-5 mechs from the Classics that they have left to design and release. The Ostroc/Ostsol, Crusader, Longbow, and to some degree, the Marauder 2.

If anything, the Marauder 2 is probably the easiest to add, just take the current Marauder, size it up by 20-30%, add a couple little wings on those vents at the back, and you're pretty much done, visually speaking.

I know they'd still have to re-code the animations and weapon hardpoints, but that's a lot less work than building completely new mechs from the ground up.

If anything, I'd expect the Longbow to be the next mech added to the Classics line. MAYBE the Crusader. I'd bet It's going to be one of those two.

I know they are enjoying the $20 packages (and so am I, I've bought at least the basic package on all to keep the format going) and I agree that lights need to have it changed up a bit. I still say a Wasp/Stinger duo pack makes sense at $20.

Ok, guys, now i'll drink.

Here's the deal...despite the attempt to make all weight classes "different but equal"....even if they had succeeded...perceived value? Ain't nobody gonna shell out 85 bucks for an Ultimate Pack on a Light. This is partly because when they release for MC and CBills, they have such a low cost, that the "early access" is not enough.

I would like some Lights, but PGI is going have to revisit base pricing structure, IMO. I'm sure it's going to impact their Viper sales, too as a "Light-Medium".

$10-Light/$15-Medium/$20-Heavy/$25-Assault for the STD Pack would probably have been the smarter marketing approach (or something akin to this. Just scaling it by tonnage from a $10 intro up to a $25 100 tonner would work, too).

Lights are going to be what make or break their current "Mech of the Month" Model.

Wasn't the above also true for the Phoenix Hawk though? AFAIK it's essentially an upscaled Wasp.

Now that Alex I. has established what the MWO Phoenix Hawk will look like, you'd think it'd be quick to come up with Stinger and Wasp. You'd just develop a downscaled 20-tonner variant of the PXH design, and then use different heads to make it either a Wasp or a Stinger.
