As promised, the colored rendition of my Nightstar has been completed. I gave it the camouflage of its namesake. Didn't shiny up the purple areas, since night skies don't reflect sunlight.

It'd be more than just a gauss mech. The variant that comes with a 375 would be perfect for a front line mech. If you want you could put a 400xl in it which would propel it to 73.3 kph after tweak. The energy hard points would likely be more useful in such a scenario but it'd be able to get in someones face and wreck it.

I'm looking at commissioning Shimmering Sword to do the Nightstar. Obviously his talents aren't cheap so would anyone be willing to help with it?

I can say that ACS (aka Shimmering Sword) would not be cheap no, but I do think he'd do right by the Nightstar. This is a mech that we need. I'm a die-hard Clansman all the way, been a Nova Cat for years, and I can say without a doubt that the Inner Sphere needs another mech besides the King Crab that can do dual ballistic anything, not just dual guass. Something that can kick the living crap out of a Dire Wolf. Not only would I have a fun time shooting at it, I'd have a fun time piloting one too!

Shimmering's price depends a lot on how much effort you want him to put into it.

A "quick sketch" is 35-104$ but having him go all out is over 400$.

Hopefully I can find a way but I'm not super hopeful at this point.

meh... the Hellstar is the best mech ever from TT. 4 CERPPC & 30 DHS in a 4/6 95 ton assault with maxed armor... oh and it does full punch damage even without hands, crushing pilots with one CERPPC barrel at a time

The Hellstar would be good and all but it's clan and the Nightstar has higher mounts.

I would like to see the Nightstar in MWO. Of all the art in this topic, I like the second piece by Bishop the best, as some have said, it looks like a hybrid Marauder/Cauldron Born (not sure how to quote directly yet). Even if some of the weapons, like LB-X and Ultra AC/20's, aren't in the game, I just want to see said weapons added as well. If they were in-game, I think it would even the field between Clan and IS better.

Man I'd love some new weapons (defensive tech too). I wish Pgi could see it'd give the game so much more flavor.

Also I'd prefer to minimize the number of Pgi invented variants.
