Well it restarted production in Davion space in 3057 so it's totally an IS mech now but a star league design.
During the FCCW, the Nightstar was generally used by the AFFS, LAAF, ComGuard, and mercs. The Clans made no significant use of it, i.e. not enough for an RAT entry, despite some cached units.
MWO is all about TechBase anyway. If it weren't a lot of Mechs would be Clan exclusives like the
KGC-000b.
However, as a Steiner-fan I feel obliged to point out that the Nightstar was produced in both parts of the former FedCom: on Kathil by GM, and Solaris by NST. Curiously the actual FedCom-variant (-9FC)
was exclusively produced by GM. (And obviously the Solaris-variant was exclusive to NST).

That is fine, A Clan Warrior would not want to be stuck in an IS mech anyway
Not in the FCCW-era, no. On the other hand, the number of Clan Mechs used by IS units is on the rise, although it might be best for MWO to ignore that.
