Yup , plus japanese have redesigned their "Warhammer" desing for the Macross Frontier series..........it's faster now since it uses a wheel system on the legs. From what i've seen , this new model performance has made it to replace the "Archer" and "Rifleman" on this franchise. Posted Image

You're a little mistaken.

The vehicle shown in the image is called the "Cheyenne II", and it is based on the earlier "Cheyenne", which (in-universe timeline wise) was introduced right around the same time as the "Tomahawk" (on which the Warhammer is based).

The Cheyenne was first shown in Macross Zero.

The "Variable Glaug" from the OP is a little more nebulous, as it was never featured in any of the animated productions, and only appeared in games. I do know it came in several different flavors, though, including one that could be piloted by a regular human.
