Ok, I'm willing to look a bit foolish on this one, but if it answers the question, I can live with that.
Is the yellow color in the event rewards found with the rest of the owned/available colors? I only have about a dozen to choose from that I own, and it's not among them. I saw the pop-up advising it had loaded to my account, and I have since restarted the game, just in case, but still can't see it.
Where did they hide it, or is it something else entirely and I've just mis-read it?

It's more like a brown.

It's surprisingly close to the standard green mechs come in, just a tad lighter.
I too had to switch to owned colors and then moused over them individually until I found the corresponding name.
'yellow'

It's kind of a week old stale piss yellow
Anyways just search by owned colors and select the yellows color group and you should find it
BTW if you want true yellow the only one is sulphur.

CJF Yellow is bright yellow. Just so you know.

Agreed. The sulfur and CJF yellow are as close to clear/ pure yellow as you can get. Oh and Rasalhague "orange" too. Its clearly yellow, maybe a tiny bit orange in it, but I cant see it. Also the some of the mech collection pages (Resistance for example) seems hellbent on not calling the clearly obvious yellow for yellow but orange or something else..

It's a kr@p color, no one would buy it and it was close to it's expiration date, so PGI gave it away.
Now, if it made your mech invisible, I'd take it all back.
