What's stopping you? Enjoy the game! The Black Knight is one of my personal favorite mechs but it looks very ugly in MW:4. I mean it's still a solid 75 ton mech, it has good hardpoints but jeez did they miss the mark on that one!

I've been playing MW:4 again recently with the Mektek patch and I've been trying out lasers, defying the LBX and Gauss + PPC meta. I've found the IS LL, C-HML and PPCs to be some of the best energy weapons. I haven't played with the Plasma Cannon or Assault Laser yet though. What do you all think? Want me to make a list of weapon stats? I.e. DPS, DPH, DPT, etc.

I was hugely into Mech4. I had it running on an old rig when my son was born, and by the time he was 4 he was getting into it himself... I downloaded the Ultimate MekTek package with 100 mechs & several dozen new maps. I even downloaded a map generating app to go with it... All that stuff might still be on one of my old Hard drives... I'm hoping because all that online MekTek stuff vanished years ago. I'm sure I had copies of all of the resources MekTek had and never got around to exploring it all after I installed the Ultimate Pack.

Now my son is 15. I started to teach him how to build PC's when he was 8. After spending the last year on MWO, he's itching to rebuild an old legacy system to install all versions of Mech from 2 to 4 including Mechcommander 1 & 2. He remembers how evenly matched the play was compared to MWO. So we dug up an old working gaming board that ran the first Athlon 64 single core, the 754 chip in 2.8ghz. And I still have my old Sapphire 3450HD GPU. We just gotta dig up an new legacy PSU from a surplus store, and we should have it running in short order. Good thing I've kept all the old hardware and software... it will be funny installing XP again! But the one thing that I remember most from running Mech4 on the old Athlon 754, It ran fast as hell. Like double the speed of the Pentiums of the time.

My Favourites 'mechs from MW4:

Black Heart with 2xHVAC10, 2xMXPL
Koto with an Assault Laser
Flea with an LCBL

The Black Heart was my 'mech of choice,
The Koto was amazing for strafing runs, charge in, fire one, sometimes 2 shots and keep running through the enemy lines to cover, there was no point going for a third since it couldn't handle the heat.

MW4Mercs.. Remembering the New Canton neutral ending mission was such a PAIN on veteran difficulty. No LRM weapons can hamper you and too many energy weapons cook you alive. So much fun, chaotic action though with tanks, helicopters, mechs.
