You are reading the forums, find a thread that interests you and then you craft a really, REALLY brilliant reply, .......at least you think it is.......

Only to find the thread gets vaporized and sent to K-town, jettisoned communications, before anyone gets to read it?

I think of the forums as a whole other aspect of the game, ForumWarrior Online, and I'm still tier 4......

There's also when you write this long brilliant analysis in a discussion and while typing you've been logged out and it doesn't take.... when you press back it's all gone.

Don't you love it when people have signatures made with tie-die colours and ugly word art?

Not as much as people who redundantly put their handle in their signature, when it's clearly already beside the post.

one thing ive discovered is people dont like well thought out posts. what they really like is smartass responses or memes, judging by the number of likes. one time i post a simple "this thread sucks" and my notifications were flooded with likes the next day.

also it doesn't matter what you post, nobody will read it unless they are trolling around looking for posts to tear apart. you should have to take a quiz on the thread content before you are allowed to post.

forum warrior all day. or just forum warrior for the hours every day you spend waiting for your drop to drop. there is little difference between the two.

Or my approach: Forumwarrior while unable to be playing Mechwarrior. You can tell how busy I am by my forum activity - the more I post, the more I'm out and about, working, etc and unable to play.

Which is why I type anything other than a brief snarky comment in word.

THIS.

It should always either warn you you've been logged out in real time, or NEVER log you out until after your refresh.

I stopped trying to post long brilliant analyses in 2014, I think. Feels rather pointless now that I know how little the players can impact the game, beyond the odd twitter campaign.

Now it's mostly trolling and having idle chit chat to pass the time. I mean, when was the last time anyone posted a huge write-up in the General forum with grandiose ideas about how to improve the game, or lots of statistics to analyze the status quo? Used to happen all the time. Now, 50% of the posts on the forums are silly posts with various memes and gifs. And 90% of those posts are mine.

Like this one.

"If your post is shorter than your signature, you did not think hard enough."
- ancient usenet proverb, author unknown

Ever since this proverb got posted, people have been mulling about whether this has been an demand for longer posts and higher quality or for shorter signatures and to the point communication.

It might be both.

There's only seven threads about this... I bet PGI's forum admin left at some point and they just don't care anymore. http://mwomercs.com/...ost__p__4684650

for me when I post something and got logged out it just does nothing. I just have to go to a another tab, log in, and then go hit post on the thread that I am posting on.

That or if I somehow mess up I just click "Last auto saved..." which gives me the last auto saved version of my post,.

Yeah, you write this essay, rebutting, the O.P's idea, with concise reasoning, logic and math, your old Uni Professor, would read it and bring tears to his eye's, after having to read four years of the garbage, you wrote while suffering a hang over, 24 hours before the dead line.

Then the forums log you out everything is lost ,and in a fit of frustration you write

Your idea SUCKS MONKEYS buddy

Surely a paradox using work and forum posting in the same sentence, unless of course you work for IGN
