It's Bizzaro!Kingcrab

Kodiak has high ballistics mounts in the shoulders
KingCrab has low ballistics mounts in the arms

Kodiak has low energy points for brawling
KingCrab has ironically high energy points (Frankencrabs are legit Posted Image)

Kodiak is tall and humanoid with normal legs
Kingcrab is short and crabby with chicken legs

And many more (less pertinent) differences!

Kodiak has no quirks
Kingcrab has good quirks

Kodiak is Clan Tech
Kingcrab is IS freebirth dirt tech Posted Image

That's only the Hero version, and even then the placements are wrong. .-.

It's basically a ballistic Banshee (the 4 ballistic one at least).

They are talking about the stuff in lore or strictly the hardpoints.

I know our unit would like a Clan assualt that allows for meatshield pushes while still having clan heavies. Don't expect to get it, but would be nice. [The EXE should work, but still not the same and way to many lrm twolves - same as lrm atlases LOL]

It's basically a 100 ton Raven, but with big arms and humanoid legs and completely different hardpoints and a different torso with no beak and little teddybear ears.

That's how I see it. <shrugs>

If it corresponds to anything IS I would say it's a clan mauler, not sure there is actually an IS comparable mech though. This is one of those releases that will actually add some new possibilities. Let's just hope it's not too much power creep.

I had this thought when I went to bed. 400 Engine cap. x4 Ballastics (but banshee can't carry alot because it's all one slot D: )

Huh. That is a good point, with the hardpoints for missiles and cannons being torso, and the lasers being in the arm.

You can also argue it is a heavier, Clan Mauler.

Therefore it's not a 100 ton firestarter...

Edit: had to google that bizarro to understand...

Remember the IIc's? How they had so much more firepower than their IS counterparts? How did that work out?

Hope that it is not an imitation of any IS mech and that it more resembles the l33t OP clan trinity.

I'd suggest the Kodiak is more akin to the Banshee

With the Hunchie IIC and Jenner IIC being good but playing different than their IS counterparts?
