From now on, I'm moving all threads relevant to FW to the FW sub-forum.

I'm going to toss this out here for you: Believe it or not... Faction Play, like many of the other subforums, doesn't see a lot of traffic. So sometimes we intentionally post in "GENERAL DISCUSSION" to encourage general discussion with a larger portion of the playerbase.

I know that I for one have been here long enough that if I intended or wanted my post to be in Faction Warfare, I'd have put it there. If I put it in GenDis, it's generally for a calculated reason.

I can understand this, but there's a reason for FW forum, to discuss FW.

I said earlier some of theses things do not apply to a forum, such as describing a mech within it or equipment. But what doesn't apply per say, is the tonnage rulings being discussed alongside a mech.

If you want, poke Russ/Tina on this, you can, or I can ask Tina on this.

Up to you. I'm just here to moderate the forums as is. But sometimes I'll ask to make a few changes if possible or keep people updated on problems.

No offense, but they dont seem to respond historically, to polls. I still remember two, one 9000 to 400 against, and one over 4000 to 100 against that were accidentally broken (the exact same way - so that when the new thread was merged the results of those polls were gone) and merged with another thread. I could probably still find that 3pv thread in the archives actually, but Id rather go fishing lol

So asking them directly (or putting it in a visible place that actually gets traffic) would actually have a better chance for them not to be able to ignore it. Or thats the way I see it

Alright, I've asked, and here's what's going to happen;

General Discussion and Faction Play Sub-Forums are going to stay separate.

Why?

Well, it's actually a couple things, let me list them:

• Competition for threads will be tough, and thus some people's questions or asking for opinions may be dominated by Faction Warfare Threads.
  
• In the past, getting rid of a Large or rather significant Sub-Forum caused a bit of anger amongst the players back then, best not to try that again without good reasoning (as in no longer available, removed, etc.)
  
• Faction Play has much, much more Sub-Forums than GD has; if we combine the two, you're asking for the General list down of threads to be also clustered by the Factions within Faction Play, in short a big mess.

I've discussed this with the higher ups, and this is what was addressed, sorry folks, but it's still going to be General Discussion, and Faction Play.

If not you should probably rename the forum from General, which means everything.

It doesn't matter, if there's FW thread for things based on FW, it's going to get moved regardless. Remember, I asked them personally, so it doesn't really matter now. If anything I went as far as asking for you that wanted it, they told me no, so I'm going to uphold their decision.

A bit late to this party, but for my 2 cents, I've never played FW or whatever it's called these days, and that has a lot to do with knowing very little about it. Having to go searching for information just to get into it isn't going to happen. If all the info I needed to know was handed to me in one place, sure, maybe. I will not just jump in and try though. Seal clubbing comes to mind immediately, followed by the salt that would surely follow from those that know what they're doing and see that I, clearly, do not. No thanks, can live with out that.

Majority of the threads are, rather, about the mech overall as their impact to the game. To move them to Guides & Strategies would not be wise, as they have little to no context on such, and would be in the wrong forum. kind of like the FP threads and such but a bit less strict on the ruling for such too.

And again, everyone's entitled to their opinion.... to an extent. (that is, IF it doesn't violate the CoC)
