Not Trying to be a jerk Agent (though probably succeeding), but has there been a single design or decision made by PGI in the last 2 years you actually DID approve of?

Well I tend to only be vocal about the designs I don't like, but that are important to me, for instance I don't complain or compliment Clan mechs. But I do try to offer constructive criticism about where I think it should be improved. However 9 times out 10, my complaints are that it doesn't look like it used to, which was probably intentional on the artists part.

Recent deigns I like: Phoenix Hawk (one of my favorite new deigns), Archer, Mauler, and Zeus; although my all-time favorites are the originals: Jenner, Hunchback, Catapult, and Atlas. Honestly, overall I really like the MWO aestetic, and think Alex and the Modelers have done a good job.

However, I think you are refering how loudly and frequently I complained about the Marauder, Warhammer, and Rifleman. I could not help it, those really hit me in the feels. Some of my favorite TT mechs, and PGI failed to meet my expectations, and to add insult to injury, the later two looked more like clan mechs than IS mechs.

Currently the Cyclops looks like a generic assault mech, but it could have been much more interesting if it retained some of its original styling ques.

Original Cyclops was one of the ugliest mechs I have ever seen.

Valid point. I probably would have not commented on it at all aside from how vociferous you were in your displeasure on those 3 Unseen. And human nature is to speak up when dissatisfied far more than when happy. I guess it's because I didn't see anything posted saying "Archer sexy" (which in all fairness I also could have totally missed), so only registered the negative.

My bad.

Funnily enough, while it did modify some of the overall cues, this and the Kodiak are the first Assaults since the Atlas I have actually really liked the look of (though the non Invasion Gargles is OK).

Archer was the first mech that cosmetically belonged on the same tier as the original K2 and Founder's HBK.

Shame gameplay wise it's not as good as it looks. Posted Image

That is all part of the charm.

Ah, but mine is the same. based on the geometry, the Kodiak will be good or bad, based entirely on the hitbox boundaries.

Geometry limits hitboxes. Much like the Archer, with enough structure quirk, the Cyc might be survivable, but it's geometry will never allow for the hitboxes to be good, if the model follows the art.

That isn't tinfoil, that is very easy to extrapolate. Which is why I have always defended the Kodiak. As long as those shoulder pauldrons are Arm and not torso, it's going to absorb fire like nobodies business.

Which is what I said (and backed up with mock ups, etc) since the art was released.

Fair enough, I defended Kodiak too, It's got an okay hitbox layout, but we have yet to see the exact one's in-game.

You know oddly enough, we thought the Archer was going to be quirked okay. Instead it got underminded, with quirks being minor and not helpful, until PGI looked, heard, and then acted upon it....

Geometry for the Cylcops will be bad, of course, there's nothing to be done about that. but with quirks, it might be salvageable.

Hopefully. Or I'll just have to make use of it's engine cap agility and good payload to play it like my Orion IIC :D

I haven't read all 10 pages, so in case nobody has noted yet: "Malocchio" on the special variant camo means evil eye.

Its actually really a shame that they chose to mimic the Archer torso geometry like that, it definitely appears like its going to have very easy to hit side torsos.

So I just got back after a covert mission into the HQ of Piranha games modeling department, and this is what I was able to down load from the servers for the Cyclops...

More accurately, PGI looked, heard, and waited to act upon it. There was a PR failure where they promised to alter the quirks pre-release, stating that said quirks were just demo quirks, only to later correct that statement and wait for a hotfix. I am happy with the second set of quirks though.
