My experience on this first night wasn't very good with solo queuing. I played for about 2 hours (2000-2200 EST) and only had 3 "Urgent Call To Arms" pop during that time. They disappeared before I could react fast enough to join so I was stuck in quick-play for the night.
Seems like they are attempting to force the solo players into units. Problem is for the casual player, you pretty much make them stick to Quick-Play if they want to game at all.
Anyone else have a better experience?

To me Freelancer means Bounty Hunter and you get double the C-Bills/15 minutes you would in PUGs and there is some skill rating/selection involved. Otherwise there is no reason to play CW since you get nothing but CBills for your time.

so I'm a bit confused here, are there any benifits for being a freelancer. I mean, I quite like the idea of it myself.

If you choose to pledge loyalty to a house, you don't have to join a unit.. and if you go to a populated and well maintained faction, like Jade Falcon for clan or Raselhague for IS, you'll have a decent enough population to find matches on-demand with and you'll also be able to use those factions' Teamspeak servers to find other people to play with and organize within-game.
Freelancer is a **** job. Yes, you have to do 10 probation matches when you first declare loyalty to a faction, but after that it's a lot more enjoyable. You won't have to wait for the popups ever again.
