Don't know if is the limited mechs and lower damage, or what. But I ran four scout missions tuesday with one win and three losses. I don't think I saw more than 48 K for any mission.

Also found out that on defense, twice the enemy dropship was coming in and we never found the drop zone to do anything about it. Sure, there might be smoke but on Forest Colony and Grim Praxis we never found it. The other defense we killed all the enemy mechs first.

First rule of MWO: If you want to get paid, ignore objectives and destroy mechs. Preferably by side torso destruction, not CT.

Killing the enemy team and winning (which is the only way you can win as defender as far as I know) should get you 100k+

i don't know if you get extra cbills for gathering more intel as attacker, but if you don't, you should

6 games, 6 wins, 135-155k per match. Given very short match times, this isn't bad. Less than I make in quick play by a significant margin, but probably comparable per-hour income.

huh yeah, exactly this.

And that's not running a cbill bonus mech.

Smaller matches give smaller payouts, sounds like a risk v reward thing. Not sure why all matched need to be balanced in regards to C-bills. If your driving concern is C-bills seems there are already modes for that seems the Scouting mode is for folks looking for something else.

Its not my only concern, But the juice should be worth the squeeze.

If i didnt wait longer to get into matches then then matches themselves took i wouldn't be complaining. But 20 min wait for a 10 min match with a ****** payout is not fun for anyone. There is no reason to play FW if the payouts are that much smaller. Need to be comparable at least to Solo gameplay.

Yea, that's quite the same of standard skirmish, because I focus to 3-4 enemies in a common drop, so it turns out to be the same income in 4vs4.

Also, I find 4vs4 very enjoyable.

It reminds me good ol' mw3 brawling time :D

Another thing to consider: weapons that spread damage (e.g. SRMs and Streaks) will normally do more damage overall. Lasers are good for winning the match, and lasers let you chop off legs with pinpoint precision.. but that doesn't really get you paid very much. You get paid more by running Skillcrows and just vomiting huge alphas repeatedly all over your target until it falls down.

Just spent 10 minutes waiting for defenders to show up. They didn't. Then 1 minute waiting for my 4th teammate to join the match. He didn't. Then 2-3 minutes looking for beacons on Polar Highlands, with no defending team. Then 1 minute to get back to the dropship. Then over 1 minute waiting for the dropship to pick us up, when we were standing directly under it. It didn't.

After 15+ minutes in total, we got the 37,500 C-bills. Fantastic. Are we having fun yet?

I'm enjoying it too. I really miss the old 8v8 days, and 4v4 reminds me of why.

You matter. One player can actually carry a match reliably - or fail and hurt it badly too. You can't hide in the mass of friendly mechs, mediocrity is readily apparent.

The maps are larger now, too, which makes maps even at Caustic's size feel huge in 4v4. All in all, it's an excellent hunt and kill experience.

Getting the drop on your opposition matters a lot, and is much more practical than trying to have 12 players "sneak" up to another 12.

But even in a "roll", a strong player can win. 12v12 pusbes into an unstoppable roll quickly, but worst case scenario in 4v4 is going down to 4v1, and even then it's extremely unlikely they'd all be undamaged.

That's still reasonably possible.

No, I love it. Yeah, ultimately it's still robots smashing other robots, but it's in a wholly new format. It's good stuff.

Sorry you had a gimpy match. Can't say I've experienced anything like that though, just matches at roughly the same speed as the solo queue and awesome 4v4 combats, each paying out roughly 145,000 cbills.

Have seen if you just stay alive in dropship zone you win if attackers cannot liftoff with info

Last night we never waited more than a few minutes for a 4th scout to join our group of 3. When we were 4 manning it we never waited that long either.

Maybe it was just that Marik/Davion battleline, but it was fast and fun.

4v4 is awesome; I actually feel like I can control the outcome of the match more so than regular 12v12 matches.

Because you as 25% of the team can win games by doing well. Individual performance is much more important in this mode it seems.

I won one last night by the skin of our teams teeth after they got ambushed by a Davion group and I high tailed it to the dropship on Polar. Was able to get the Captain-General's data to him post-haste and win the round. We had legged their oxide and only a Griffin was able to get a few shots off on me while I was on the extraction point.

It's a lot of fun, at least IS vs IS lol.

Not as worried about CBills, although the wait times are significantly longer, and most Quickplay matches end in under 5-6 minutes.

Fact is, overall, I believe you will make a lot less cbills, on average, per hour.

Bigger gripe is the XP seems pretty well guaranteed to suck.

Mode is fun, but payout ain't great.

Agreed! Individual performance matters a LOT more in this mode...allowing players more opportunities to "save the day". Posted Image

Downside? 1 single AFK doofus realyl screws your team a heck of a lot more, too.
