I think the Hanging Badge has time to be redesigned, right? It has not yet dropped...

But they do have some rights to Artistic License, after all. If they can style Mechs as they see fit, then they can tweak the badges, too, as long as the original intent/meaning still carries through.

could care less about the badge. Just don't want to see them totally butcher Ariana Winston. The Sleipner looks amazing. It ain't Ariana's mech. So let's keep the awesomeness and not force a square peg into a round hole. Honestly don't care about the medallion.

Well, in fairness are we sure it's not hers? The camo and name are not what I'd expect, but does the Twilight of the Clans ever describe her Mech's paint scheme or name? It's not what I'd have expected but black Vikings aren't really any more strange in Battletech than a lot of other things.

The Eridani Light Horse are kind of famous for keeping their 'mechs in 'Star League' olive drab. They were pretty stubborn about it.
