The Phoenix Hawk lore story mentioned the Hermes II. Makes me hope these stories aren't indicative of future releases. The Vulcan was also mentioned? God help us if that makes it in too.

You're making me think that you don't want any 40 tonners in the game, the Hermes and Vulcan are smexy. Get me a Clint and an Assassin too plz.

The Assassin would be amazing, the rest of those are trash bruv.

Ballistic based 40 tonners are all trash, Clan or IS.

Why so? I have great experience with Shadow Hawks and Enforcer using ballistics. Sure the bigger mechs excel better in them. But you can get really good results with lower weight balistics and a couple of backup lasers.
Or go all dakka and never look back!

You have to think of 40 tonners being big light mechs, much like you have to think of 60 tonners being big mediums and 80s being big heavies.

A 50t or 55t mech is a completely different platform, when it comes to ballistics, than a 40 tonner.

Guys, ~80-90 kph 40 tonners are extremely easy to kill.

That's why no one runs Cicada's under ~120 kph.

That's part of a rules rewrite I've been doing for my group... We're changing lights to cover 15-35t, mediums 40-60t, heavies 65-85 and Assualt 90-110, along with engine sizes that make sense to work with the extra ranges.

Oh boo-hoo... my Awesomes and Trebuchets have run out of tears....

My Vindicator is sitting in an alley in River City drinking coolant out of a paper bag.

If you are worried about the viability of a mech that is not released better get on Twitter ASAP to get the buff train going.

On the subject of releasing the Kingfisher-F instead of the A or D because they don't add anything different from each other, I wanted to point out that PGI has set a precedent for skipping a useless variant for a slightly out of timeline variant.

I noticed that the Timber Wolf-B was never added to the game, because it is essentially a Timber Wolf-C without the CT laser, hardpoint-wise, and the S was released even though it was slightly out of time reach.

Yet another piece of evidence that the Kingfisher-F (modified) variant is a possibility.
