I noticed the Summoner can not really compete with the grasshopper or blacknight. It gets owned by the ebj and timber. Is it possible to add Endo to this mech So we can have a little more space?

The Summoner is an OmniMech, which have fixed reactor size, armor type (normal or Ferro-Fibrous), internal structure (normal or Endo-Steel) and heat sinks (always double atm)
So nope, no way to change this.
In exchange you can switch the hard-points by switching Omni-Pods.

The only way to compete with other 70 tonners, or much of anything else is to take note that there aren't a lot of hardpoints or a lot of space.
So...
Pack. BIG. GUNS.

Little guns run out too quick, and require too many tons in ammo.

PGI is unlikely to change the system they set up for themselves when the clan mechs first came out.

Summoner is known as being pretty bad for a heavy. The space just isn't there and hardpoints are low for the lasers. You can at least run 5 SRM6 with artemis and punch people hard up close while being a pretty mobile 70 tonner to play to the mech's strengths. You can even pop up from behind hills and stuff and smack people with an SRM barrage for a little fun if you are close enough.

It works at least. You could always try poptarting with PPC + Gauss, but to be honest the mediums end up doing poptarting better. Hunchback IIC for example can run some mean poptart builds all high mounted. Shadow Cat has great jump jets and can hit with dual LPL while jumping. Nova can get out a medium laser burst while jumping. But yeah, Summoner is basically comparable to mediums but with more armor.
