cause the forums are more fun than the game?

Though I do wonder if the Cyclops' weird quirks came about because of the thread where everyone pretty much said it added nothing to the game.

That would have been my thread

I only post because adamts01 knows everything and I don't want to miss any of his posts. And because Scout Derek tells me to.......

I actually would probably be a white knight if I spent a lot of time expressing my opinions here. I have a lot of fun playing so I consider all the complaints I have to be over minor things. Honestly, I wouldn't show up to work tomorrow if I had a whole forum full of people who thought everything I did was stupid, so I have to give Russ and Paul credit for that.

And that's fine. To their credit, they have gotten me to spend more money than I ever have on one single video-game. And I will keep spending if they release things I like (note to PGI: your current premium 'Mech offerings that I have not purchased...I do not want. Gib Locust IIC, pls!).

But I also see undeveloped potential and that's immensely frustrating because I want to see MWO grow and prosper even more.

As for making them notice, yes, that's the only way nowadays considering those back in beta scared them off due to the bickering and anger and frustration from the community.

So you are saying that the anger of the founders in beta was inappropriate? That the "bickering" as you call it was undeserved?

Even the whitest of knights has to admit PGI earned the scorn they got back then. I won't bother to list all the promises, almost/sorta promises, pillars, etc., that led to the outrage, but I have no doubt that PGI were the makers of their own problems back then.

Maybe once we get to recent history, I can buy into your argument that they can't appease one side without angering the other, so they say nothing, but not back then.

The thing is, the problems of today can be traced back to the problems back then. Even if the biggest problem to day is a small revenue stream making it hard to dig the game out of a hole, that could be considered the result of a lot of potential players feeling burned and newer players not being impressed enough to stay.

I've had this tab open in my browsers for years now. I can't bring myself to close it, and sometimes I get bored enough to shiptoast.

I didn't get to you in time, but Yeonne sums up what I was going to say.

Because group queue and CW matches take like 5 minutes to get started sometimes and it's either post here or watch porn?

I'm just going to report missing posts as a bug issue. Maybe that will resolve it I could have sworn I hit post but the "server" must have ate it.

Maybe PGi thinks now it has a Steam linkup, it doesnt need any of our opinions and such.

Should I start listing the games that have died relying on a steam connection?

Derek I like you, but you're gonna have a real hard time putting out the fire russ just set. I try to make a point of not getting into people's faces, other people will not be so courteous because, like it or not, russ just snubbed the entire community.

Whether you agree or not, you DO NOT tell your community that their feedback is not needed.

Especially when your lifeline is whatever that community gives you, we arent holding them up for ransom, but Im pretty sure thats gonna rupture their accountants bottom a tad.

I understand this, but if they can't express their opinion without violating the CoC, then I don't know what to say other than either remove their thread in which they can possibly request a edit and then I return their thread, or lock it down.

some others may dislike me for doing so, but hey, there's a CoC here, when you made the account you agreed to its terms, that is if you even read it, which I know some don't when they make a account, be it accident or on purpose.

as I said, if they can't follow the CoC when expressing their opinion, I don't know what to say then. I'm actually pretty merciful when it comes to warns or suspensions, or when removing people's threads or arguments.

it's when they do it thrice or quadruple times, abuse the report system, or even to relate my actions to something that's ridiculously overrated, that makes me disappointed.

oh, and not even attempting to PM me on why their thread is gone and whatnot, about 1/3 do so, but the other 2/3 don't.

oh well, 1st world problems of a moderator, I shouldn't worry too much, but I do worry that the community sometimes doesn't know it's way around the forums, which I plan on changing soon to help people who violate the CoC and don't understand, and a little bit more.

probably the most active volunteer moderator as well out of the bunch, aside from Odanan, he gets on frequently.

Mods are currently suffering from a bit of an image problem, you might have noticed, because having to stop people from criticizing PGI, whether they are violating the CoC or not, is unpopular, especially when PGI is apparently ******** the bed, again. This is compounded by the feeling that some mods deal out unfair treatment to some members.

Im not trying to goad you into a fight here, thats why im not naming any names, but im trying to explain the issue from my perspective in the most diplomatic way I think I can.

In other words, when russ says something he most definitely should not have, and people want to discuss it, and what it means for the game and the community, and the threads get shut down wholesale, its seen buy and large as an attempt to clamp down on dissent, not an honest attempt to keep the forums clean, even if that is what it is.

I was going to post something long but I'll keep it simple, sorry we lost you Derek, maybe you can advise Russ on listening to more than the same people that abuse any break in 'his' game, otherwise he better start handing out retirement packages for 2017.

To aid that, thats exactly how I am viewing it.
