I hardly even play this game anymore and I still bought all of them Mechs....sigh ....ok ok have to check myself in to Mech addict rehab ...but their so pretty.

Don't make Gold ones or M A S E will not be able to resist Posted Image.

306 in the hangar when I last checked and I've played them all. come to think of it 70 % of them would be all modeled out as well with radar dep and seismic.

As per Blake's vision The ROM will assimilate all Tech and destroy the houses and clans by depriving them the tech.

I was hoping for a gold Hellbringer or Ebon Jaguar, but it seems that wave 1 has royalties Posted Image

I'm seeing 33 tons and 41 tons available being posted. Did someone omit JJs or something?

38 tons with near-max armor. TC4 represents the Night Gyr's locked jump jets.

Yeah, that threw me off at the start also, but then I looked into a "lore & known mech's double check", and realized it had to be a typo and, or misprint. To err is human...

The firepower equals aka an Assault, an 80 tonner at least? It carrys more than a Timber Wolf some say..

I have to agree with you here: given a good pilot and setup this Mech could be a beast on the battlefield!

Looks horrifically ugly, totally different to the other mechs going around right now.

...Good. The other mechs are reusing so many bits and bots they're starting to blend too much. This is sure to stand out of the crowd.

If you look at the original drawings, and while I agree it's not the most aesthetically pleasing Mech to look at, they are actually spot on with the model. In fact, this is the best rendering of the Night Gyr I have seen to date: but that's simply my opinion...

Actually, the Night Gyr was in the 3050/3058 BATTLETECH sourcebook which was first published in 1996 (according to Sarna) and StarCraft came out in 1998 (Wikipedia). Anyway StarCraft was HEAVILY "influenced" by Warhammer 40000.

Anyway, the Night Gyr will be a Summoner on steroids.

Yay... the Nova Cat wannabe is here.

I would literally rather have any other Clan mech.

it's the other way around: Nova Cat is the Night Gyr wannabe!

You speak truth. From the Battletech Technical Readout 3060:

"Impressed by Clan Jade Falcon's Night Gyr, Nova Cat scientists reduced the speed of the Nova Cat to free a massive amount of pod space for weapons allocation, giving the Nova Cat its unique look."

A little mistake: DHS are not fixed except the two in the engine.
In the Weapons and equipment section, gray inscriptions are for fixed components, the white ones for normal components you can remove.
Night Gyr has 12 fixed DHS.

That does make a big difference. I did not know they did that with the Omnimechs. But then again it does make sense since this is the first that was not the same in that regard across the board.

It's a battlemech with omnipods and it can be called an "omnimech" but it's still a battlemech ;)

Edit: It's a Clan mech, only Clans have omnipods.

From what I read in the lore:
Battlemech = any mech with fixed hard points (IS mechs, IIC mechs, non-Omni clan mechs)
While
Omnimech = any mech with variable pods (Clans, and later IS have them)
Just saying :)

This.

Back to OT: I'm buying the Dark Angel-ish (Warhammer 40000) camo of the Hero Gyr.

Nova Cat is better on every level IMO, therefore Night Gyr is reduced in stature to a wannabe.

Nova Cat is better for laser vomit and maybe LRMs, but it can't jump. Night Gyr's ability to boat Dakka or carry dual Gauss with 4 medium lasers is plenty enough.

I don't use dakka much at all. So yeah for my personal preference Nova Cat wins hands down. Also the Nova Cat C variant can sport Dakka, and Nova Cat F has jump jets.

so yeah Nova Cat = Night Gyr on steroids.

It is also an Omnimech the same as Night Gyr so literally it is better for anything anyone could ever want. It has missile, ballistic, and laser hardpoints can sport jumpjets and looks cooler too.

You are right that the F variant sports Improved JJs which can be removed. I agree that it looks cooler compared to the Gyr.

But it's still a Night Gyr wannabe.

I like it. One question to you all that no the MW lore. Is this just a variant of the Nova Cat?

If I buy these mechs, will it be the same stupid thing as with the preorder bonusmechs of the wave-packs where you couldn't buy the omnipods until the mech had been released for cbills? So, I ALWAYS will have to deconstruct existing mechs in order to use the single omnipod I got on different mechs?
That's really fun, especially when every click on the save-button sends my client into two minutes of forced shutdown because it has to discuss some ***** with the server.
Maybe they talk about Hegel or Nietzsche.

read my comments and Hit the Deck's comments as well... they are different mechs. Night Gyr was the forerunner to the Nova Cat. Nova Cat is just better in my personal opinion (Hit the Deck disagrees).

I don't necessarily disagree with you regarding the Nova Cat's capabilities compared to the Night Gyr. It's just the Clan Nova Cat's scientists wanted to create a totem 'Mech based on Clan Jade Falcon's Night Gyr so I think it's a stretch to call the forerunner a wannabe. But English is not my mother tongue so it may mean something else for some people Posted Image
