Thanks for that, but Ill have to drop the er medium lasers to regular mediums, as it looks like they werent in at 3049. Although I had a thought, I havent seen an official list of the equipment allowed, if double heat sinks arent in either, this build is dead in the water.

Yeah, sarna states that both ER Mediums and DHS are available in 3058. But it's not so bad, because the DHS take up a lot of space that could be dedicated to Endo Internals otherwise. Also, the lack of ER mediums necessitates less heatsinks, so it's not all lost. Gimme a bit =)

P.S. As far as DHS go, they were up for serial production in 3041, so they could be in regardless. Also, HMP allows to mount them for all 3050 Mechs which means that we would definitely have them once the Clan Invasion begins.

P.P.S. As promised. You get a precious Gauss Rifle on top of it. How do you like that? :)

I think ill make a topic about the heat sinks, seeing alot of builds floating around counting on them.

I've tinkered a bit further and included DHS again, keeping the same config (Gauss, PPCs and friends).
Turns out that you can swap out Endo internals for FF armor and pack in 14 DHS, netting you 28/38 heat dissipation.
Oh, and you get to keep the hand actuators, so the Atlas can brawl properly :)

Was tinkering around with the planner and came up with this fun guy that is good at range or up close.

3/5 movement (is meh but at least no xl xploisions)
full armor
2x ppc one in each arm
2x er medium lasers
2x SRM-6
1x UAC-5
1x anti missile system
only one ton of ammo for each (so 2 tons for the srm 6)
18 double heat sinks.
and squeezed in case for the ammos.

I think this build is better because it doesn't run heat as bad and the LPLs will tear light Mechs apart.

Atlas AS7-D (100 tons)

Spoiler

Role: Long and medium range direct fire support.

You are not going crazy friend, there are conflicting amounts on how much an anti missile system weights, some sources say 2 tons others 1. And the last ton minus the 4 armor points is reserved for whatever I feel like could use an ammo boost after trial and error.

It's all good, look for yourself.

I had built it in quickmech and skunkwerks getting 98.5 in both, the problem was I only had 1 ton of UAC5 ammo, and had over-economised by putting all ammo in one location so negating need for second CASE.

Thanks for clearing that up guys!

Nah, Endo is a bigger weight saver than FF :)
Lets you take streak launchers instead of vanilla:

I quite like this build, never actually thought about LPLs for my Atlas. Might have to give that a try.

I think that a post I saw listing all known equipment we know of so far said that DHS and ER energy weapons are in, along with SRM and Streak 2 and 4. Don't remember the link but they said they picked out DEV statements and HINTS so grain of salt but a good chance.

Um...mind if I ask what's up with the AMS ammo in the head? That stuff should be in the torso with case. Move the medium laser to the head and put the AMS ammo in the CASE-d up torso.

EDIT: NM - someone already did it.

Not sure what rules you followed but it used to be the case that you got DHS only if you had an XL engine.

DHS without XL is legal.

Beta builds are usually patched often and stats change frequently for everything. That is all we DO know.
