The TTK is kinda low but it's a lot of things that come into play, being from the desired feeling of the game and the actual pilot ability.

12 man TTK is low considering you can get focused by much more players and obviously you get destroyed instantly. I agree that weapons should feel powerful, but the power comes from their utility and strategy when to use them.

Right now, it doesn't matter if it's laser based pinpoint damage or ballistic burst, you just focus the torso until the armor is gone and the enemy dies. Crit shots, flamers, and other alternative trickier meta stuff is always ALWAYS thrown out of the window because the TTK is indeed low.

Consider a higher TTK alternative: Ballistic bursts get more desirable for brawling since gapclosing would be easier, and a more viable and attractive gameplay style. Crit seeking builds could come into play to seek that ammo explosion from lights to heavies; flamers for crowd control and sabotage could come into play as something desirable or interesting.

If we leave the game as it is, it doesn't matter if you're sporting one build or another, it gets trivial if you can just sit back and vomit lasers from afar doing pinpoint damage to torsos.

Also, brawling is the most fun you can get out of the game. Seriously it's the best idea for me.

Go for it.

For anyone that thinks TTK is too low, go do some 1v1s. You'll be surprised at how good TTK actually is.

TTK seems low because it's artificially lowered by massive group fire. There's no fix for that except to break up group cohesion. Interestingly enough, InfoTech might be the best solution for that since it will be less easy to acquire targets. That would force groups to rely less on rapid target cycling and the military alphabet, and more on visual descriptions, which are clunkier and more time consuming to relay to a group.

Weapons shouldn't be touched though since they aren't the root problem.
